"It is very... Latin," Aphrodite mused, thinking it over. "And after all, we are Greek." It was one of her pet peeves, people from this time thinking the Greek and Roman names for deities were interchangeable. What sort of stupid, ugly name was Venus, anyway? Hardly befitting a being of such beauty as herself. Aphrodite was by far the prettier name.
"But I suppose it helps to take the attention off our involvement, which after all is an important consideration," she went on. "So it is not entirely a terrible idea. Desiderata..." She hummed appreciatively. "It is floral and decorative, without being overly difficult for today's mortals to pronounce. I rather like it."
