JJ sat on the other side of Jesse then, though she hadn't bothered to put her clothes back on. "What he said," JJ pointed at Jesse.
"It's like-" Nicholas didn't even realise he had balled his fist up in his shirt, directly over his heart. "It's like being back in that room again," he whispered. "And I'm eating." In fact he had been eating even more than normal. He had noticed Adrian glancing at him worriedly the day before, but no one ever said anything to him about what he ate since his time with the Antichrist. Hell, most of the time the members of his household would just place food in front of him without a word. Once he had been in the kitchen, finishing off an entire plate of dinner, and Jayden had simply strolled through and somehow he had ended up with a bowl of soup and two rolls in front of him.
"I thought it was just a downswing," he explained, because he didn't want them worrying that he hadn't told them for days. "I thought it was normal and it would go away but I- I've been eating more than usual, and I've- I've lost three pounds in a day."
