Who: Constanze, Eurydice, Orpheus When: Backdated to Feb 27, afternoon What: Girl talk, then the man comes home Where: Orpheus and Eurydice's house
Ever since Valentine's Day, Constanze had felt a little out of sorts. She had surmised that a love god (probably Eros) had decided to do his godly deed and target Constanze and Helenus. (she had heard about it over the years, people being angry because Eros had meddled in peoples relationships, but she had been spared... until now.) She didn't know how he did it, picking two people who had an underlying attraction to each other without really saying anything aloud. Maybe it was because attraction had to do with love? She honestly didn't know because she wasn't a goddess herself and was only immortal because of her ex. So being able to feel other peoples emotions and the like wasn't in her agenda.
She had called Eurydice to see about getting together and having a 'girls chat' and to hang out. Constanze had been at Orpheus and Eurydice's house for a couple of hours, having tea and chatting about anything and everything. She had explained about what had happened with Helenus and how she didn't feel wrong about it at all. "I think there was something there to begin with. Why else would we have sought each other out?"
Eurydice nodded slowly, thinking about it, "Well, you know I've never been under a love spell. I don't need anyone telling me I love Orpheus, or how to show him."
Constanze leaned forward, resting her elbows on the kitchen table as she thought about the situation, staring at the teacup in front of her. "I like Helenus," she said after a minute. "I just..." she sighed and looked back to Eurydice, "I just worry about how it'll upset Wolfgang. He's been so... well... not great. I've been avoiding him because I'm pretty sure I'm the problem."
Eurydice offered a look of understanding and rested a hand on Constanze's shoulder. "You said you broke up months ago. I say follow your heart." She offered a smile of encouragement.
Constanze nodded and leaned back, then groaned. "Why does life have to be so confusing?"
Eurydice laughed and shook her head, "I have no idea. Nothing good ever came easy, though."
Just then Eurydice heard the front door open and she perked up, "Speaking of a love that didn't come easily" She smiled happily when Orpheus came into view, "Hello, love! Constanze came over for a girls day."
Constanze offered Orpheus a smile, "Hello."
-----------------------------------
Orpheus was happy to see gosbdarling wife bubbly and excited. She had a friend in both Constanze and Wolfgang (though Wolfgang had become more recluse these last few months and he'd thought it time to try and help him). He walked in and greeted his wife with a kiss on the cheek. "Hello, my love." He put a hand on Constanze's shoulder. "I've seen less of you these days, you must come around more. It puts such a smile on Eurydice's face. It's good to see you."
------------------------------------
Eurydice smiled at Orpheus' touch, then grinned at Constanze, "I smile just fine." More so nowadays than before because she had so much reason to. She had overcome a lot of emotional baggage over the last few years, but between having Orpheus and Constanze as support she had come to realize her own self-worth again.
Constanze chuckled and then patted Orpheus' hand, "It's good to see you, too. I intend to have more girls days," she promised.
At that, Eurydice stood up and went to the wine cabinet. "Anyone care for a drink?" she asked, pulling out one of Dionysus' reds.
------------------------------------
Orpheus kissed his wife's hand and took a seat. She was bright and cheery in a way that seemed to cut through his own dispair. Orpheus would always blame himself for her time spent in purgatory because of his actions. He had her now in a way that he'd never gotten to in the past. They had a life, a home, but no little ones to dance around them. In his youth he may have wanted nothing more than just the two of them, but now after they both had their freedom, the world still seemed harsh. Therefore, for Orpheus, any smile (no matter how small), brought him relief. It may be temporary, taking the place of heartache that still sat in dark corners, but it was something to hold on to.
"What brings you out Constanze? We don't have any lessons for another week or so."
-------------------------------------
Eurydice had every reason to be happy these days. She had Orpheus and he was all she truly needed. She had considered herself truly blessed when she had him back in her life. She did feel ashamed from time to time for having been so depressed after they found out there was slim chance of them ever having a child together. It had taken her so long to get over that blow, but she didn't think about it as often now. What matted most was Orpheus. She pulled three wine and then opened the bottle of red, pouring a glass for each of them. She set them out one by one and took a sip from her glass.
"Oh, I just needed to get something off my chest to somebody," Constanze said, which probably sounded a little secretive.
"Girl talk," Eurydice piped in with a smile.
Constanze smiled at Eurydice for not sharing what they had been discussing. She didn't mean to be secretive, she just needed to figure it out and having a girl friend to talk to was a huge help. She took a sip of her own glass and made a sound of delight. "This is the immortal stuff?" she asked Eurydice, who nodded and sipped at her own again.
