Who: Little John, Rhea When: Wednesday afternoon Where: A little coffee shop What: Blind date~
It was literally not every day that Rhea had a date. In fact, she went out so little that for her to even have agreed to go out with a complete stranger was head spinning. It wasn't as though she avoided dating, so much as she avoided men who had the potential to turn into another Kronos situation. And Rhea really didn't need another one of those on her hands. The world didn't need another Kronos situation! It had taken months for Rhea to so much as warm up to the idea of going on a blind date with a man whose name she didn't even know. Her colleague from work had mentioned it once over the summer... and then again at least once a week... then every single day until she had been worn down.
Trust me, he's one of the nicest guys I know. And he has a pretty cool accent.
You just described most of the population... And you do know there's more to people than where they're from?
Of course! You know what I meant! Just one time.
How do you know him again?
We're neighbors.
Ah. So you don't know for certain if he's a serial killer who murders unsuspecting women and harvests their brains.
Silvia, he's a nice guy. Also my sister says he's cute, so you'd better swoop in fast before she does.
Alright, alright! I'll see him once for coffee, and if it's not a love connection we can drop the matter.
At least now she had a name.
John Greenleaf
Since Rhea had agreed to meet after work, she was still dressed semi-casually. That was partly because she didn't want this to feel too date like even if that's exactly what it was. She wanted this to be casual, comfortable, able to get the hell out of there at a moments notice. Rhea liked to keep an open mind, but when it came to men and dating she tended to be very guarded. She had been in an exceptionally toxic relationship just once, and she had no intentions of going through that again.
She had arrived at the little coffee shop her colleague had indicated, making sure to be there at least half an hour early to scope out the place. Rhea also checked her phone to make sure Zeus' number was at the ready in case things went south. Not that she expected this John fellow to be a threat, due to his reputation, but one could never be too careful. It would have helped her to have seen a picture, but she had no idea what to expect. He had been described as tall with an accent. That did not help her one bit. All she had to go off of for now was a name and a very limited description.
Rhea thought briefly about asking for identification when he arrived, but suddenly felt that all too familiar tug of another immortal in the vicinity which had her looking around.
