For days Maia had been holed up at her farm, having been one of the many effected by Eros' love letters. For those few days she hadn't a care in the world. All she wanted was William. Maia was usually so shy and closed off from others, but over the months as she got to know William she had found herself feeling steadily more comfortable with him. And then she opened that letter and she realized what a fool she had been. She should have been letting him in all this time. When he had arrived at her farm she had greeted him with such warmth. There wasn't another soul in the world she wanted to be with.

She also hadn't so much as glanced at her phone since his arrival, so she was unaware of any missed calls or unread messages from her son, or the calls about her monthly supply shipments. Maia had been so preoccupied in her lovefest with William her logical self had completely closed out everyone else. Eventually that illusion wore off. Maia remembered most of the last few days and it wasn't until she looked at the calendar that she realized what day it was. She had gone to the kitchen to make coffee and only then did she look at her phone. Her eyes widened when she saw the number of missed calls, but she was more concerned about the message from her son. She looked a the time and realized Hermes would be there any minute.

"My son is coming over," she said, feeling like her heart was trying to escape from her chest. "He's never seen me with anyone, I don't know how he'll take seeing you here," she said nervously.
