Atlas had been beside himself when Pleione told him she was pregnant. He'd done everything he could to make her comfortable during the pregnancy, but she knew exactly what she was doing, so he knew he was mostly along to support her, and he was fine with that.
He introduced himself to the midwife and her assistant when they arrived, and hugged Maia when she turned up soon afterward. Then he sat himself down next to Pleione, because there wasn't anywhere else he wanted to be until their son was born.
Finally, Alexander had entered the world, and Atlas, who tended to not emote very much, or at least very obviously, found that he couldn't stop smiling. He and Pleione had another child to raise, and it was the best thing in the world, being a new father.
He slumped down in his chair next to Pleione, and kissed her hand. "Well he is your son," he told her, smiling. "So of course."
