Arj had come through for Euterpe - she didn't even consider how or where he'd managed it - and handed a fiddle up onto stage for her. She gave Johnny a low quick whistle to let him know, and then set in on her shoulder. It reminded her of better days being up there on stage with him, a violin beneath her chin and a guitar in his hands. And, just like the old days, she was ready to dance with him right into the mouth of hell to play for the devil if she had to.
(Being around Country Music, in both its forms, brought out something a little more Southern in Euterpe every time. She found herself dropping the ends of her words, picking up a slight drawl, falling towards more country idioms. She never really noticed it herself, but it was always there.)
