Briseis followed Helen's lead and started to chop things as well, letting the other woman speak without being focused on too much. When Helen finished, Briseis considered her words and wished she could find an easy solution for her. Her very nature hated to hear that another woman was terrified of her situation, especially when it was someone like Helen - who, after all, was almost a sister made of the same war.
"I've only ever felt the forced love of the gods on brief occasions," Briseis admitted. "A few Valentine's Days Eros has forced it on me. But nothing like yours, not that sort of violation. I'm sorry, it's despicable, the gods are monsters." She chopped the chicken slices a little harder and angrier. "I've been trying to read up on methods to lessen their powers on you. So far... well, just a few ideas but nothing solid."
She frowned and looked up at Helen. "But just so you know, if I hear you're suddenly with him again, I promise that I will come and get you out of there." Her eyes had a dark spark of fierceness behind them as she spoke. She wasn't going to stand by and let Helen be raped - which was exactly what these love spells were.
