Katherine smiled at him fondly. "I was like that before David was born," she recalled. "He had so many things that rattled, or lit up, or played music. My ex-husband tried to reign me in, but pssh. I wanted to spoil my baby." David laughed from his seat at the counter. "Is that what's in the boxes that say 'David's Baby Things'?" he asked.
"That, and some clothes and shoes, and some old photo albums," she replied. Then she turned, a gleam in her eye. "If you want, Jayden, I can show you his baby pictures. Lord, he hated to sit still, he'd cry if I walked out of his line of sight."
"Mo-ther," David groaned.
"Da-vid," she laughed. "I haven't got to properly embarrass you in front of your boyfriend yet, don't deprive me of my joy."
