Who: Hypnos, Pasithea When: Tuesday afternoon Where: Unnamed street near Central Park What: Thea is daydreaming as usual
The rain had gotten considerably lighter, almost completely gone. Here and there Pasithea heard the dull little thud of a raindrop falling onto her umbrella. She kept it open in case it began to rain harder. It might have looked a little odd, Pasithea strolling along the sidewalk with her umbrella still open and no indication of rain in that moment. She wasn't really paying attention to where her legs carried her. Work was finished and she tended to stroll around without any real direction until she grew tired and returned home. Her thoughts also strayed randomly. Momentarily, she thought of Saturday. It has been enjoyable and she had needed to let loose the way she had. She had woken snuggled up against her companion and what occurred next was entirely their own business.
Again, her thoughts jumped to another topic: Why do they call them hot dogs?
Were dachshunds referred to as wiener dogs before hot dogs were called hot dogs?
So why not call them hot wieners?
Maybe it just sounded too sexualized.
"Mortals these days," she said to herself in an exasperated voice. Anyone who heard that probably thought she was a little loopy.
As she walked on her thoughts strayed here and there. She had several near misses with the other people walking along the sidewalk, as well as no misses as she bumped into a few people. She apologized and smiled to each of them and continued on. The last man she walked into as more than a bump, she walked directly into him as she glanced off to look at one of the many neon signs advertising one of the musicals being shown. She let out a little "Oof," but didn't appear embarrassed or angry. Where many people would have glared and blamed the other person (when it clearly was their own fault) Pasithea generally smiled, offered an apology, and sometimes even kissed their cheek. It took her a moment to realize what had happened as she was very suddenly stopped in her tracks. She smiled and chuckled at herself, "Oh dear, I'm so sorry. I must have been daydr-" That's when she had a good look at the mans face. For a moment her mind couldn't quite comprehend the face as she stared at it. She knew him. She had known him a long time ago and she knew him still.
