Who: Echo and Narcissus
When: Friday evening
Where: On the town
What: On a date (WUT)
Warnings: We'll see...
The charity event had come and gone, and Echo had thoroughly enjoyed herself. While a part of her had gone to spite Narcissus, most of it had been because she didn't go out on dates all that often. She wanted to dress up in pretty outfits and be waited on and complimented. She wanted someone to open doors for her and pull out her chair. Was that really too much to ask? She didn't understand what was so positively grotesque about her that Narcissus just had to put her down at every turn.
So understandably, she was surprised when he had asked her out. She felt it was because another man had stepped forward and had asked her out. It still made little sense to her that the man who seemed to hate her the most in this world wanted to take her out. He never once gave the impression he liked her in any way, shape, or form. So Echo was suspicious. She didn't know what would come of this evening. She suspected he would spend a good deal of it putting down her outfit, and if not that then her hair. She was already braced and ready for impact. Anytime someone stepped up and defended her, she felt a rush of pride and at the same time she couldn't understand why anyone would defend her.
Echo had gotten ready and waited just outside her building, per Narcissus' request. As the time ticked by, she wondered why she hadn't let the time drag on while she had been getting ready. She started to wonder if this was all just some joke. Maybe he wasn't really coming. He wasn't going to show because why on earth would he ever go out with her? At least all she had to do was turn around and go right back inside when she realized this is was all a big mistake. She would give it a few more minutes. He had complained once about people being punctual. Maybe he lived by that rule, too. Who knew? She just felt very exposed as she stood there waiting.
