He didn't reprimand her for wanting to walk away again. It wasn't until he looked at her turned away from him that he choked back his pride. This wasn't about him right now. He saw those tears glitter down her cheek and he couldn't help but move his chair so that he sat closer. He reached out a hand to her again, tugging her softly to lean on him if she needed. He couldn't sit on his own hurt feelings. He wouldn't leave her alone either. Just as he had all those years ago, he felt sympathetic to her tears and could never turn her away.
