As he spoke Nike could feel her cheeks burning. It took a lot to embarrass her. And evidently admitting ones feelings was what embarrassed her. Having them spoke aloud made her uncomfortable. She fidgted a little, feeling her palms begin to sweat. And she did indeed look like a deer in headlights. Part of her brain wanted to stay right there, perfectly still, to see if maybe the threat would go away on its own. The rational part of her brain knew better. There was no joking her way out of this. She was at a loss for words. Once again, there were no right words. She hates that she couldn't come up with something clever or intelligent besides, "Okay..." Everything he said was correct. Nike really wanted to turn tail and run when things started to get serious.
