He'd learned a long time ago that expectations were usually never met. He looked down at his watch. It had been at least twenty minutes since he thought she'd show. He could have left, but he still sat there.
"Didn't think you'd show..." he said simply, not offering a shady comment himself. He usually commented on her beauty (something that always captivated Theseus), but he was nervous.
There was a long silence. He opened his mouth up many times before he finally had something to offer. "She's gone now. Zoe's mother." It was a starting place. He wanted Nike to be more involved with who he was, all his faults, all his failings. If she still wanted him after that, then maybe this was something he could have. If not he was going to walk away with a broken heart.
