Although Nike had never made it a point to seek out relationships she had run when they seemed to present themselves. Anytime things got serious she bolted. She was leader of the Enforcers, Zeus' charioteer, a punisher if you will. She wasn't a love struck girl with dreams of a white veil and dress. She had never wanted children. Those things just complicated life. She enjoyed being single and having her siblings as drinking buddies. They were who she turned to when things sucked or if she just needed someone to bitch and complain to. Even now she felt some level of guilt about keeping what was going on inside from Bia. She had never been afraid to tell her sister anything, but this was about feelings and children of Styx were meant to fight and follow orders.
There wasn't a doubt in her mind what Theseus wanted to talk about. But she still paced her living room for a good twenty minutes before making herself leave. They needed to get this over with. (Fantastic and very optimistic.) Nike could make no excuses for not coming. She was off for the day, and she had already made it clear she was having that sort of conversation over a computer.
As she approached the designated meeting place she could see him sitting there. Her heart raced, wondering if she was about to completely ruin something they had so carefully been building. She would have been gone months ago. Why had she stayed this long?
He was a lot like her. That's why.
Nike sat down next to him, offering no greeting. She was all out of snark for the time being.
