Oh thank god, Jamie might believe him. Thomas sighed in relief and he stepped closer to them. "I- I don't know. Maybe they fell out of Dani's pocket? But I doubt she would have brought them here. She knows I still struggle with all of this."
Lena wasn't as quick to believe Thomas, which was pretty clear by the look on her face. "Thomas-" she said quietly. "I don't- I don't know what to think, but if you just used us as a way to guilt us into believing you-"
Thomas' jaw dropped. "I- Lena, I wouldn't do that! Look, maybe they are mine, but if they are, they're from over a year ago and they've just been chilling in the sofa since then! But I don't think I ever kept them in a bag!"
Jayden heard the raised voices and despite every muscle in his body telling him to run, he managed to make himself enter the living room to see if Jamie was okay, only to find his friend holding his drugs. "Uhm-" he said softly, staring at all of them. "Whats'-"
"It's okay, Jayden," Thomas assured the boy immediately. "It's okay, Lena and Jamie found some pills and thought they were mine, but they're not. We're not fighting." He knew Jayden wouldn't like fighting. "We'll watch the movie soon, okay?" Jayden just nodded. "Lena, I'm sorry I ever gave you a reason to doubt me. I really am. But this- I am not on any drugs and haven't been since last year. Really."
Lena still looked skeptical, but all that changed when Jayden quietly said, "they're mine. The pills."
