Renton had very much not warned Thomas about the house, but nothing would have kept him from helping his sister anyway. He just scurried up the stairs and into the room with Lena and Charlotte. "Fuck. Okay. We're taking her out of here," he said to Renton, who had followed much more slowly.
"She owes me a hell of a lot of money," Renton said, his eyebrows raised. "She was working it off, but if you're taking her away, she can't exactly do that can she?"
"I'm going to pretend I have no idea what that means so I don't have to stab you in the face," Thomas growled. "Just tell me how much she owes and I'll pay it." Or Serenity would pay it.
"Just under eight thousand," Renton said, and Thomas' jaw dropped.
"O-okay. I'll get that to you, but we're taking her out of here now." He leaned down to scoop his little sister into his arms.
"You have three days," Renton said to their backs as they left.
