Isaiah had spent most of the day laying around his dorm room, avoiding doing his homework. The end of the year, and his subsequent graduation, were really not all that far away if he stopped and thought about it.

So when his phone rang, he was grateful for the distraction, even if the number wasn't immediately familiar. "Hello?" he said into the phone.
