Nikke knew that, sooner or later, she'd have to tell her sister she was pregnant. It wasn't exactly something she could keep a secret, and she didn't really want to. But she didn't have to do it alone, either, so she'd texted Joey and asked if he'd come be with her while she delivered the news.

She got up to answer the door when the knock came, and pulled him into a quick hug before letting him inside. "Hey, thanks for coming," she said. "I think they're in the living room."

"Of course," Joey said, leaning in for a kiss. "You know I wouldn't miss it." He was a little worried Veronica was going to try to take his balls from him, but he hoped he would realise Joey was serious about this. Nikkie was his family now; Nikkie and the baby. He was going to have a family.

He followed Nikkie into the living room and sort of smiled nervously at Veronica and Anthony.

Sensing something big, or at least important, she'd had Bernie go to one of his friends. An excitable eleven year old might turn things toward said excitable eleven year old and while her son was adorable and Important, if Nikkie needed to talk.

She smiled to the two as she set a bowl of chips down. "Hey," she noted the nervous look and began having some Suspicions. "What's up?"

Nikkie walked in with her head held high, a look of determination on her face as she stood in front of Anthony and her sister.

"I know that look," Anthony said, raising one eyebrow. "I saw it right before we got the Keurig machine. And right before we repainted."

"Both of those were excellent choices, don't even lie," Nikkie told him. "But no, this is...a bit more important than a coffee machine." She looked over at Veronica. "I'm having a baby," she said, abandoning preamble for directness. "He went and knocked me up." She jerked her thumb at Joey, smiling slightly.

	Joey's eyes widened at that and then he took a step backwards in case Veronica came at him. "I- I did, but I'm sticking around! We're having a baby together! I mean, no- not together. Yes, together, but not- I mean, it's her vagina. Oh god." Joey hid his face in his hands. He had just said 'vagina' in front of his girlfriend's sister, and a saint. Her eyes widened before she looked at Joey. "Really?" Then she laughed and stepped forward to hug her sister. "Congratulations!" She hugged her sister tight before letting go and giving Nikkie a kiss. "I'm so happy for you. And hey you're beating me. He's not a jerk and an abusive ass. Just foot in mouth syndrome."

She smiled to Joey before going to give him a hug too. "Silly weirdo, I got an eleven year old. I'm the last to judge. And I got myself knocked up by a Greek God." she shook her head. "Congratulations though. How far along?"

	Anthony just laughed at the look on Joey's face. "You might want to make sure he's alright there." "Yes you are, as it should be," Nikkie said, kissing him on the cheek. "But yes, he does that." She hugged her sister, grinning. "Not very much at all, probably...what, less than eight weeks?" she answered. "I have an appointment next week to find out for sure." "I'm offended," she offered jokingly, "you were already part of this one." She smirked and smiled at her sister. "You can both stay here until you got something lined up. And I'm right here okay. You were there for me, only right."

She paused, "Mum's going to have kittens. She's been on me for more grandchildren since I told her about Anthony. So now you get all the excitable Mum. She'll probably want to visit too, so you know just prepare for like trucks and trucks of knitted baby things."

"Yeah, what she said," Nikkie added, punching him lightly on the shoulder. Then she nodded. "Yeah, I thought it might be best to line something up for down the road. Since once the baby's born, this place would just start to feel really crowded." She smiled. "Thanks, V. I really appreciate it."

"Plus your boss will let you leave if you feel sick," Anthony added. "No jumping through time off hoops."

"Best boss ever."

That made her laugh. "Oh, I know. I figure I'll give her a call this week. But if she wants to come and see us, and bring tiny cute things, I'll never say no."

	For Joey, considering himself part of a family wasn't easy. His own had essentially thrown him away. The fact that they both considered him family already made Joey tear up a little. "You guys...you're just the best. Will your mother steal my balls?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

She chuckled at Joey's comment. "No one's gonna take your balls honey. Except maybe Nikkie and then I don't want to know about that." She smirked again, "they never judged me, they won't judge either of you either. Or be angry. Feed you and hug you, maybe. And knit adorable things. Mum loves being a grandmother."

"Bernie is going to be thrilled too. I'll tell him about it when you guys are more sure." Smiling she sat down next to Anthony. "One thing though," she grew more serious. "This means I am getting sweet, sweet vengeance for all the Saint baby jokes Nikkie's been making at my expense."

"I promise not to tell you if I take his balls," Nikkie said innocently. "But she's right. Mum wants to collect all the grandchildren, she'll probably pinch your cheeks and coo a bit."

"That'd be great," she agreed, nodding.

Anthony burst out laughing, and between giggles, Nikke said, "I stand by all of them, alright? ALL of them." Anthony just continued to laugh.
