Svetlana hadn't actually meant she was leaving him, but she giggled anyway. Sometimes, despite speaking English very well, she didn't get certain nuances until afterwards.
When he seemed to find a spot, she spread out her towel and sat down. Immediately she clicked the bottle of sunblock open and squeezed a bit out, rubbing it onto her arm. A pair of young men passing by slowed and stopped before one of them whistled.
"Hey, baby, you need help with that?" one of them asked, and Svetlana looked up at both of them, perplexed.
"Pardon?" she asked politely.
"I could do your backside," the second one said with a laugh.
