Jayden arched an eyebrow and then he nodded. "Alright, but then so do I," he said, before stepping forward to hug his brother anyway. He knew Jesse was going to feel how thin he was, but to hell with it. "I do love you, you know?"
"Go sit down, both of you," JJ instructed. She went to the fridge and pulled out a container of chilli she could warm up for Jayden. When it was hot she sprinkled it with cheese and grabbed a few slices of bread as well. She knew it wouldn't likely eat all of it, but she could try.
She placed it in front of Jayden and then sat opposite him, watching as Jayden stared at the food like it was more likely to kill him than nourish him.
He groaned and shoved a tiny bite in, squeezing his eyes tight when he swallowed. "Okay. Okay. I ate a bite. Where do you work, Jesse?"
