Thomas watched in horror as his son left. Jamie left the room, and he had clearly been both upset and disappointed. It made Thomas feel sick.
"Jameson-" Thomas turned to follow the boy, but Lena stopped him.
"You leave him be," she growled at Thomas. "What you are going to do right fucking now, is go into that bedroom and get every last goddamn pill. And I mean every one, Thomas. I'm not fucking around here. You bring them out here and you put them on the counter and you wait. I'm going to go check on Jamie."
Thomas nodded, never more willing to cooperate in his life, if it meant Lena wasn't going anywhere.
Lena, for her part, trooped to Jamie's door, trying not to stomp. She wasn't mad at Jamie, nor did she want the poor boy to think she was going to leave him. She knocked on the door gently. "Jamie? It's Lena. I can go if you want me to though."
