Jamie had been working on an assignment for one of his classes, while trying to give his father a tiny crash course in art terminology, mostly for fun. He was about to tell him another one when he heard Lena's pounding footsteps coming out of the bedroom, and the bottles of pills started to rain onto the sofa.
He turned his head, very slowly, to look at his father, his face falling into a very blank, almost cold, mask. "You promised that what we found was all of it," he said, his voice even. "You said that was the last of it."
Roxanna, unluckily, chose that moment to come downstairs. "Hey Jamie, where's the-". She took in the scene before her and stopped in her tracks. "You know what, it's not important, it'll keep. Don't mind me."
