Jesse swore under his breath, then sighed. "Thanks, doc," he said. "I'll definitely be talking to him."
He looked at Jayden's bandaged head, nodding speculatively. "I see that," he said, dropping into a chair next to the bed. "Jay, your doctor was just talking to me, and he told me...he told me your blood sugar and your iron were real low, like you hadn't eaten hardly anything. They're gonna put you on iron and see what happens."
He sighed, rubbing one hand over his face. "Jay," he said, leaning forward, elbows on knees. "What's going on?"
