Jesse watched the EMTs like a hawk, because, like he'd told Jayden, he was the big brother. It was pretty much in his nature to worry over his younger brothers.
Once they'd loaded him into the ambulance, he was about to respond, when the EMT leaned in. Jesse frowned, nodded, and pulled out his phone, muttering to himself in Creole the whole time. "I'll follow you on my bike," he told the EMT, grabbing his helmet off the table in the hall. "Which hospital?" The man told him, and Jesse nodded, plugging the name into his GPS.
His phone chose that moment to beep with a message from Victor, 'Go. We can manage. Take care of him.' Jesse's mouth quirked in a semblance of a smile. "See you at the hospital, Jay," he said, firing up the bike.
