Thomas gave his son a bitterweet smile. He was so proud of Jamie for getting through the things Beelzebub had done to him, but he wished he didn't have to be. "Like Jamie says. I still have nightmares, but not every night." Of all of them aside from Roxanna, Thomas had been taken most recently. "I'm not really a fan of the dark any more. And I have food kind of stashed all over the bedroom."
He had other things stashed in the bedroom too, but both Jamie and Lena thought he had gotten rid of all his drugs so he wasn't about to say that out loud.
"Yeah," Lena agreed. "I used to love candles, I burned them all the time. Now they kind of freak me out because the Antichrist likes playing with fire. And I still panic sometimes when there's water on my face because of the waterboarding. It just takes time. Time and awesome people to help. I know when I get panicky I find Thomas and he distracts me by being utterly ridiculous."
