It was a little overwhelming, sure, but for once, Jayden seemed to believe them when they said he was good at something. "I could try it sometime, maybe! Not tomorrow," he amended.
Nicholas laughed and he patted Jayden's shoulder. "No problem! My friend Hannah is a musician. She plays the sax, but she's also in charge of the live house band and the club. You could talk to her about schools and programs and all kinds of things if you wanted to. And I wouldn't mind paying for lessons."
"Why would you do that?" Jayden asked, once again honestly inquiring.
"Because you really seem to love it, and if I can help you along with something you love, why wouldn't I?" To Nicholas, it seemed obvious, but nothing about kindness was obvious to Jayden.
