He wasn't going to let her let him go. He could feel her choke up but kept giving her something to cling to while he promised her with little whispers that she had not fallen from his shelf. The Sin had learned her value, he wasn't letting it go. Him seeking out a Virtue's help was proof enough of how desperate Greed could get and how far he could go. He kept having to make these examples of the lengths he took to secure what belonged to him, but because of that he would never tire and never saw it as something he had to do. It was what he DID do. _____________________________________ It helped soothe her some, his loving whispers but she still was upset. She leaned on him heavily to get to her room, her eyes were red and she felt zapped but she was comforted that Greed was staying with her. She just needed to get to the bed and not think about what was in her head. _____________________________________ He helped her into bed, the door still wide open as Jonah knocked softly. "I've got the tea," he'd spent the last half hour just cleaning up so that no one had to worry with it in the morning. Samson toddled in even to give Zoe a sweet doggy kiss on the foot with his tongue. "You okay?" Jonah looked sympathetic, hurt, and worried. Greed took the cup from him, "She'll be fine." It didn't help Jonah for feeling remorse that he'd forced anything on her. "I'm sorry about earlier, I had to.." he told himself it was what was necessary, not because Greed had told him to. _____________________________________ Zoe smiled weakly at Samson and gave him a scratch behind the ears after calling him forward. She said a soft but sincere, "Thank you, Jonah... for what you did. I know I said I didn't want to be.. but Chance explained it was the only way. So thank you." she was sitting up and she leaned her head against Greed's stomach since he was standing next to the bed. _____________________________________ "It still was something I wasn't comfortable doing..." it had worn him out too, that was a lot of Sin to try and tame when he wasn't the opposing Virtue. "I can't fix it, but it will eventually wane out of your system. I can't negate it." He came in a little closer, his gigantically tall form casting a dull shadow over the bed. "If you need anything---" Greed cut him off.
"I've got it." Just because him and Jonah had helped her by working together it hadn't changed anything, and Greed wanted to be sure Jonah knew that. _____________________________________ She nodded, looking broken again, knowing there was more of this crap to come. "Thank you.." was all she muttered again, staying close to Greed. She felt safer with him there. There was one thing that she didn't understand.. why did Envy attack her? She took Greed's hand, worried, "Is it because of the picture?" is that how his brother found out about her? _____________________________________ Greed looked over to Jonah as if there was more to this than any of them knew. "No, I don't think so." Jonah bowed his head. Now may have been the time to bring up the letters as he was starting to be able to put the two together. That was the heavy feeling they all felt before, the shredded clothes, all the signs that someone was out to mess with them. To mess with Jonah. He would rather talk about it later, maybe in the morning when he wasn't feeling so drained himself. He needed to recharge. She needed sleep. Greed wasn't going to be going anywhere, and for once Jonah was okay with that. Greed nodded towards the door for Jonah to take his exit. "Take the dog with you." He wasn't going to pretend to be nice, but he would give Jonah a little edge---the guy had saved his things. It didn't mean Greed would gloat about how awesome Virtues were, they were still a pain in the ass. Sins were definitely much better.
