"I don't know. Don't look at me like that. Like I'm the bad guy you don't want to be around." He hated that look, it made him so transparent, exposed. He rubbed his chin on his arm, laying his head away. There was this overwhelming feeling of shame. "There's something going on here I can put my finger on, it just feels weird." _____________________________________ She gently touched his cheek and made him look at her, in her eyes, she didn't think he was the bad guy... he just had parts to him that she was less comfortable around. But to prove her devotion to him, she conceded and kissed him. Giving him a sweet kiss that would gut punch him with how much emotion there was in it. No, he wasn't human, and yes, he did bad things, but this girl loved him through it all. _____________________________________ He wasn't even thinking about their bet. That wasn't part of this right now, though later he would use it as a bargaining chip. Her kiss was sweet and endearing. Something Jonah would die for, but instead she gave it to Greed. "That look you gave me stung, like I'd kicked you instead." _____________________________________ She sat next to him, in his pose with her knees to her chest and arms wrapped around her legs, "Because it reminded me of when you did kick me. That you can kick me.." he had been cruel to her before things like this reminded her that he could do it again. _____________________________________ There was that weird self-loathing hitting him, that had he been thinking rationally would have tuned it into Envy, but it was cloaked under that Virtue stink he couldn't quite sense. Envy was good at hitting people under the radar. He just looked out into the street below, her canopy of lights hitting the upper window. He was kinda at a loss. All he could do was feel like shit and he hated that. He couldn't apologize for who he was. _____________________________________ She reached out and touched his hand, not knowing if he wanted her to hold it or not, "Chance... it's just one of those things. Remember, we can't erase the past... we can just keep creating new memories. I'm.. still recovering." he had hit her hard in the fall, there was still damage to heal from, but she didn't want to lie to him. _____________________________________ "I'll just ruin everything I want in my life and be alone." He let out a heavy sigh. What was niggling him? It was driving him crazy. _____________________________________ She was done being gentle, she grabbed his hand, ripped it off his legs and wedged herself between them so he was forced to snuggle her as she curled up against his chest, "This is not my boyfriend talking." _____________________________________ At first he protested but once she was wiggled in against him, the warmth, the connection was enough to help him shake some of this weird feeling that had invaded his system. "I dont know what's wrong." All he could keep saying was how weird this was. Something looming, something he wanted to figure out. _____________________________________ She fit against him like she was made for him and frowned at how he still felt weird. "Okay, maybe you've been spending too much time around Jonah and are just getting burnt out on him again." she kissed his jaw, "How about we go to your place tonight, okay? We can take a walk in the night air when we get there."
