Pygmalion and Galatea had been seeing each other now for months. They write still in that happy place of learning about each other. There was always that familiarity, but something else was keeping itself perfectly hidden from them both. The ultimate question if what it was that pulled them apart in the first place. Whatever darkness lurked could not keep him from seeing her. The snow could however, abs he was stuck in his apartment for days.

On Valentine's he decided he had to see her. There was an urgency, as if his very existence depended on seeing her on this day. Fate had aligned and he didn't want them to keep holding back. Pygmalion showed up at her door a less artsy that usual with a single white rose.

Galatea liked the city in the winter. Tourism died off so everything was slightly less busy and she'd grown to enjoy the cold. She loved fresh air and this winter had been especially crisp.

She felt like she was in a good place with Pygmalion, too. She felt comfortable with him, which was saying something as she was never comfortable with anyone. There will still big blanks in her history, but she'd come to accept that about herself. She'd learned about who he was now and how that worked with who she was, and to her that was all that mattered.

With the storm that had just come through, she hadn't expected him to show up at her apartment. Usually they would plan these things or he would have at least texted her. Just showing up casually like this struck her as out of the ordinary, but not worrisome. She still smiled when she saw him.

"Didn't expect you to go trudging out through this," she said, teasing.

She was breaking away all those chips of stone they'd built around each other. He was starting to see a more human Galatea, and it sent his heart into a million directions all at once. The sound of her voice now alone made it flutter.

Pygmalion handed her the rose, shivering under his coat. "I needed to see you." It was almost dire, like if he didn't he was going to shrivel up.

	She wanted to ask him if everything was all right, but stopped short when he passed her the flower. Random acts like this - while appreciated - still tended to throw her off. Galatea's smile softened and she opened the door further. "Come in. I'll put on some tea. Or would you like coffee instead?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Tea is fine," he stepped in aware that his presence was a bit unannounced. Usually they had this routine down of asking permission but the more comfortable he became the more he pulled out of his shell. She was seeing a man that he hadn't seen in forever, the one that was a giddy romantic.

"I know this is entirely unexpected, but..." he took her hand pulling her softly towards him where he could capture that glimmer in her eyes that she did not show anyone but him. He needed to touch, to physically tell himself she was not going to turn into stone again.

The words weren't unfamiliar to her - Galatea was used to having men act this way - but they were somehow different coming from Pygmalion. His words held more weight. They actually had conversations, he listened to her and valued her opinion. Because of that, his words and actions held more meaning for her.

She turned to face him when he pulled her back. Their hands were held in the small space that separated them. Without shoes on, she noticed she was almost eye-level with him. Not particularly comfortable with closeness, even after months of seeing each other, she dropped her stare to his shoulder. "But..?"

"I feel like we're closer now..." Things could happen, but he wouldn't push her. He just wanted to be with her. And the more time he spent with her the more he wanted to keep being with her. He didn't step away from her even though he could feel that uncomfortable vibe. His hands were twisting and turning together, but he was just too nervous.

"That tea sounds good about now..."

"Hm." The hint of a smile turned her mouth upward. She met his eyes briefly before pulling away - because it was easier to busy herself with putting the kettle on than dealing with his proximity or the feelings it was giving her.

"I suppose we are. Still, some notice is always nice. I might've changed." Galatea knew what she looked best in, and it was certainly not a chunky cardigan and leggings. There were some things she only wore when no one was around, and her current outfit was a prime example. Even though she felt too casual, she knew that she was still beautiful. She was just the type of person that always wanted to put her best foot forward.

"No, I don't think you have..." he couldn't keep his eyes off her as she busied herself with the simplest of tasks. There was no skill in making tea, but she did it beautifully. Every feature of hers so delicate, down to her long slender fingers which he brushed when he went to take a cup from her. It was such a simple movement, but he wanted to do it again.

When she pulled away softly in a few steps he took two more forward, brushing the hair from her face so the back of his hand brushed her cheek. He was a little too close now, feeling his heart pulse through his fingertips down to his toes.

It was time wasn't it? The more nervous he was, the more he wanted to just make a move. A simple one.

	She fumbled with the kettle when he touched her. It scraped roughly against the burner and she let out a nervous laugh. She was usually so graceful. She only stumbled around Pygmalion. "I haven't what?" Her voice was quiet. He was too close for her to speak at a normal volume, but she still sounded confused and slightly nervous. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"Changed..." Did he just do this? When did he really become so nervous over kissing his wife? They had tip-toed around this for months. It was how he breathed life into her was with the simple touch of his lips on hers. When ivory turned to flesh. Yet, right now there was hesitation even though it felt right. (Reply to this) (Parent)
