Who: Lucifer and Charity
What: 'Oh Lucifer, why must you kill?'
When: Wednesday night
Where: Random alleyway
Warning: Lucifer, mentions of death, dismemberment, language, general demon unpleasantness
Hands coated in blood and a body sinking to the ground still gurgling it's last breath, and the only thing Lucifer regretted was that he'd gotten blood on his new sweater. Honestly Charity was so amusing to keep sending him these things. He didn't know why she bothered, but he liked the Virtue. Her along with Temperance he'd love to get in bed. Preferably at the same time. He sighed and wiped his hands on the body's coat. Another one his little pets had told him had spoken to the Saint. He was all too eager to take up the bet Patrick had given him.
At least it gave him something to do.
He kicked the body aside, he was being nice really giving his brother something to do and all, and snapped his fingers. When one of his personal minions appeared he told it to get something to get blood out before letting it go and sitting on an empty trashcan while he waited. "Such a waste. People can't die right anymore either. Got blood all over my new sweater." He looked to the body, "Remind me to pay you back for that when you get to the Pit love. I like this sweater."

Charity hadn't been out looking for Lucifer, but that was who she found once she followed his familiar tingle into the alley. There he was, sitting quite casually across from a dead body.
Charity approached and then, a few steps from the pair of them, sighed a little sadly. "Oh, Lucifer," she said simply, and with a shake of her head, expression a frown.

When Charity had approached he'd half expected it to be his brother. Michael had a habit of ruining his fun. But when it turned out to be his other favorite Virtue he only grinned, "Hello love." The shake of her head made him only chuckle, "what? Oh that? What can I say? Oops?"
He moved down from the trashcan to move closer to her, "see? Wearing your sweater. Bastard got blood on it though, which annoys me. People can't die right anymore."

"I suspect," Charity suggested, looking at the poor man, "that he didn't really want to die." Charity could tell he was dead (very, very dead) but still she crouched and put her fingers against his throat to check for a pulse. Yes. Very, very dead.
"Well," she said to Lucifer as she rose, clasping her hands in front of herself. "An eventful night."

He watched her, lighting up a smoke and leaning against a nearby wall. "Does anyone ever want to die? I'll wager the answer is no to that love. Otherwise people'd be running to Death, and she'd be a lot busier then she is now. He was convenient, and in the end his soul's mine."
"Usually is around me. I assume Mikey will come sooner or later and do the same frown thing you do. Honestly I'm letting him earn his paycheck and the bugger's mad at me for it. Brothers." He sighed and offered her the pack of cigarettes.

"So this is a present for Michael?" Charity asked, her curious gaze on the fallen angel. She left the comments about people wanting death alone. It was true that very few ever wanted to die, but there was a difference between people meeting their time and people meeting Lucifer.
She shook her head at the offered cigarettes with a polite smile and then said, "Michael probably has enough work without your kindness."

"Yes and no. The body is, the name however is a present for someone who, essentially, gave me a challenge. Said I was losing my touch." Grinning he set the case away, "it doesn't affect me I think. I don't think we get cancer anymore love."
Smiling he remained waiting for the minion he'd send out, "so what brings you out and about pet? Can't say you wanted to see me. Your lot never wants to see me."

"One of the Saints?" Charity questioned. She'd seen a few of them of late talking back to Lucifer in a way that Charity had been sure would have repercussions.
At his question Charity gave the Morning Star a gentle smile. "I was out walking and I felt your presence. Thought I'd come say hello." Charity had never been once to avoid the forces of Hell. She loved them just as much as she loved the Host. "I didn't expect to interrupt your... evening activities."

He grinned and nodded, "hit it right on the marker there. They're so feisty nowadays. And I know I'm supposed to be one of those things they fight against, but c'mon. Giving me a challenge? Tsk tsk. Daddy would spank their bottoms."
From many he wouldn't believe it. Charity was different. Always had been. With a smile he raised his hand, "well hello, and oh no this isn't my activity for tonight? A pause really. There's a club about three miles thataway," he pointed to a nearby street, "crawling with Sin. Planned to stop by. Buy some souls, possibly find some young thing to spend the night with."

Charity found his comments about the Lord entertaining. "Many of them became Saints through the strength of their will and defiance. I can't imagine He would want them to lose any of that, even if it means taunting people they shouldn't."
"A pity for those you meet," Charity lamented but then gave him a small, warm smile. "But I hope you enjoy yourself." She looked down at his sweater. "I'm not sure this is suitable attire for clubs though?"

He raised an eyebrow. "There's will and defiance, then theres giving me a challenge. One's smart, the other's not so much. Saints still amuse me though. Father's got some sense of humor."
He chuckled, "I'm not going to kill anyone else, and you shouldn't. Half of them are damned already." He grinned, "I will and since when have I cared about what's suitable love?"

"That He does," Charity agreed with a bright smile, despite the poor dead man who was lying at their feet. It was not her place to judge actions, only to love all.
"I thought you'd want to look dashing is all," Charity told him, her tone easy. "Although I suppose heads turn when you enter a room no matter what you're wearing."

He finished the smoke and tossed it aside. In time to take a cloth from the minion who had just arrived. "Took you long enough. Say hello to the nice virtue and get." The thing hissed a bit before vanishing in a cloud of sulfur. "They're not friendly."
He gave her a look, "I was about to say you were wounding my ego love. I always look dashing. Besides, this way people will underestimate me. I do love surprising them."

Many of Hell's minions weren't very friendly, but she didn't find that surprisingly as Hell was... well, quite hellish. She imagined only those at the very top liked it very much. The poor mistreated minions must have hated it. But she smiled at the minion anyway, just as sweetly as to anyone else.
"Of course you do," Charity grinned him when he talked about surprisingly people. "I would expect nothing less, and I would never deny the dashing nature of His most beautiful fallen."

He watched her for a while after that, "sometimes I really do think you're just fucking with me Charity. You're so...cheery. Makes my skin all itchy." Without his ability to love, being around her was odd.
"You can join me if you like. I'll even pay for your drinks and keep the seduction to a bare minimum."

"I don't fuck with anyone," Charity smiled lightly, "and I certainly don't mean to make you all itchy."
"You don't think I'd cramp your style?" Charity asked him. "I wouldn't want to intrude."

He chuckled, "a pity for us all love. You could do with some fucking now and then. And yes well I know. Still happens."
He shook his head, "God no. You can dissuade me from sending a bunch of pricks to Hell, and you can do your goody two shoes bit and get drinks."

'Fucking' was the last thing that was ever on Charity's mind. The sheer idea of it didn't even exist to her, as she was merely the pure form of God's love. Sex was something that others did, not her.
After a moment of considering his offed the Virtue finally nodded and said, "Alright. Why not, after all? Yes, I'd love to join you, Lucifer."

"Wonderful," smiling he wiped the blood of his sweater and moved out of the alley. He went to set his arm around her waist to guide her to the club. "So tell me Charity, what do you do to keep yourself busy these days? I'd wager your counterpart's a lot busier then you nowadays."

"He very well might be," Charity admitted without shame. The arm around her waist didn't bother her at all. "Your side is doing quite well on that count. You must be pleased with that." She looked at him and flashed a cheerful smile. "As for myself, I do a lot of volunteer work around the city, nothing that would hold much interest for you."

She was one of the rare few he really couldn't annoy. He didn't know if he liked it or hated it. Probably both. "Last I knew anyway. Bugger's all quiet on me." Smiling he nodded, "oh I am. We're winning. It's glorious." He shrugged, "Well no, but I figured I'd ask and prove I do have manners at times."

Laughing he extended his arms, "look around you Charity. Look at the miserable wretches that are Father's greatest creations. They are dooming themselves." He grinned, "we've won already Charity. No one's noticed yet." He chuckled, "And don't spread that around love. Reputations and such."

"Ah, Lucifer," Charity smiled at him, unconcerned about his assurances. "You know just as well as I how quickly they change, how they turn love to hate, and fear to adoration. This is a battle not won until the sky opens up in the end." His arm still around her meant she could give the fallen angel an affectionate squeeze.

He gave her a glance, "your optimism astounds me. Even in the face of all my being right. I was right before, I'm right now. And no one to kick me out this time." He smiled to the bouncer when they got to the club, walking past the line without trouble.
Once inside he drew her to the VIP section and sat down, "alright love on me so at least try something alcoholic. You can pick wine even."

So young still, so sure of himself. She'd been terribly fond of Lucifer before he'd fallen, so how could she not keep at least a little of that? She let him have his way there, replying with only a serene smile.
Once they were inside though she sat and told him, "A tequila sunrise, if you please." She liked those. She rarely drank but when she did it tended to be anything brightly coloured.

"Oh, she doesn't go for the obvious choice. I like that." With a snap of his fingers he called over a waiter, getting the order. They knew him here. Well, as one of his aliases. Few would know him for what he really was.

Grinning he set his feet on the table, "not in that regard. I didn't figure you liked to drink now and then." He shrugged, "often enough I suppose. I get a lot of business done here. Mortals are desperate at times."
