WHO: Heimdallr & OPEN WHEN: Thursday WHERE: An unidentified mall WHAT: Heimdallr enjoying other people's Christmas shopping
Christmas shopping seemed like it was a special brand of insanity that humanity had gone and cooked up. Heimdallr wasn't partaking - he didn't celebrate Christmas and he didn't really have anyone he would have bought presents for if he did - but it was certainly interesting to watch from a distance.
Unlike some gods who seemed to dispair of the constant press of people running around, Heimdallr enjoyed it. Maybe it was because they didn't really distract him from anything - he was good at focusing on dozens of things at once. Or maybe it was because he still thought of all of them as being his. They were good people mostly. There were bad eggs among the bunch and Heimdallr would sorely like to weed out and remove them, but on the whole he was proud of humanity and how well they'd done for themselves. Even if part of that involved running themselves in circles at this time of year and worrying about too much.
Starbucks was busy and crowded, which was why Heimdallr had given up his table for a young group of girls and moved out into the main thoroughfare of the mall, sitting on one of the benches there with his coffee. While the mall music reminded him to jingle around the clock, Heimdallr read the newspaper over the shoulder of a man three shops down.
