WHAT: JAMIE IS MISSING, THIS IS NOT A DRILL
WHEN: Monday morning
WHERE: Kemp apartment

Upon discovering that his son was neither with his boyfriend, nor at home, Thomas and first called Victor and Kat. Jamie wasn't there either, and so Thomas informed them that they should come to his place, since he was going to have a breakdown in a moment. Victor had been a detective, so he seemed to be the kind of person to have around while breaking down over a missing son.

Thomas tried to remain calm while he called the rest of his family and Jamie's mother. None of them had seen Jamie either, and in the end he could only conclude one thing. Jamie was well and truly gone.

Thomas felt like he might not ever breathe again as he paced the floor of his apartment. Lena sat in a chair, looking miserable. Thomas wanted to wait until Victor got there to full on panic. Victor would know what to do. Surely.

He gave a long sigh as he took a drag of his own cigarette. "Yeah. Feel like I should have known too. I mean I was worried he didn't call, but I just passed it off. Didn't want to get overbearing." He shook his head. "When he's back," he refused to say if. He couldn't do that. "Could I stay here for a bit, just to make sure he's alright?" He didn't want to intrude either.

Thomas glanced at Theseus, and then he offered the boy a very small and momentary smile. He really appreciated the way Theseus cared about Jamie. "Of course you can," he answered without hesitating. "Theseus, you are welcome in my home any time."

He was relieved when he could stay. He'd probably not take his eyes of Jamie for a while, even if it meant he hovered. "Thanks, and I just didn't want to intrude you know." He finished his smoke just to start another. He knew he wouldn't stop until the detectives came.

Thomas sort of wanted to gather Theseus in his arms and kiss his hair like he did Jamie, but that was probably projecting. "You're never intruding," Thomas assured him. "Oh Jesus, I can't stop shaking. I'm going over all these horrible things in my mind. Fuck."

He gave a smile to that but Thomas' words made him nod and set his arms around himself. "Yeah. Same here. Pretty sure I'm in that boat. I hate all this sitting still. I know I can't do much else, but I still hate it."

Thomas hated it too. He felt like he should be out on the streets, pounding down doors to find Jamie, but that was not helpful.

He finished his cigarette and stamped it out before reaching a hand out and resting it on Theseus' shoulder. Somehow the gesture felt like something to anchor the both of them. "Victor will know who to call."

He was insanely grateful for the touch. It kept him grounded, and made sure he wasn't a mess on the floor or something. "Yeah he seems like the type." he crushed out his second cigarette before setting his hands in his pockets.

Victor was the calm type who seemed to think things through logically and step by step. Thomas was more apt to panic and scream and wail and not help anyone. He was just glad he hadn't cried on anyone yet, though he felt like it wasn't far away.

When Theseus finished smoking, Thomas hesitated for a moment. Then he pulled the boy in for another hug, this one more substantive than the last. "We have to find him, there's no other alternative," he said, attempting to reassure Theseus. If he was concentrating on that, he wasn't flipping out himself.

He was glad for the hug and returned it easily. He wasn't starved for affection, anything but, but right now the hug was a needed thing. It was comfort, and reassurance. He pulled back and wiped at his eyes, nodding to Thomas' comment. "Yeah. I know. Gotta focus on that."

Thomas wasn't starved for affection either, at least not any more. But he just so much wanted a hug.

He was about to say they should go back up, but he was interrupted by the archangel Michael, popping in out of nowhere. It shocked Thomas so much he actually fell to the ground, his hand over his heart.

It was obvious to say that his adrenaline levels were pretty high at the moment. "Jesus fuck," he hissed, and then he flapped his hands around and stood back up. "Sorry. Shit, sorry sir."

Michael just blinked at both of them and then said, "Victor tells me Jamie is missing."

He jumped when the being just practically appeared right in front of them and let out an impressive Greek curse. Unlike Thomas he didn't go to apologize and instead bristled a little.

He never liked that trick. "Fucking Christ, learn to knock or something." He helped Thomas up then. "You okay?"

He nodded to Michael, still angry. "Yeah. More then a day now."

"Sorry, I was trying to get here quickly. I didn't know you would be outside," Michael explained.

Thomas glanced at Theseus and he nodded that he was okay, even though he really wasn't. "Come up," he said to Michael, because he didn't really want to deal with any angel bullshit. Victor could do that.

They moved back up to the apartment where they found Victor still on the phone. "Michael told me to call a private investigator who is also a saint, so I'm leaving him a message," he explained to Thomas and Theseus. He waved to Michael and then held up a finger to say he would be with them in a moment.

Theseus just glared at the angel before he followed Thomas. He didn't really feel like sitting down, although Victor's words made him feel a little more at ease. "More immortals here then any place."

It made KAt smile before she waved at Michael. She was still feeling all sorts of reedy and drawn, and she suspected the baby knew, seeing she was kicking a bit more.

"It can get a little crazy at times," Lena said to Theseus, her voice a little flat. She had never loved anyone like she loved Thomas and Jamie, and if something happened to the poor boy- No, she couldn't even imagine it.

Thomas went to sit between Kat and Lena, white as a sheet. He waited until Victor finished on the phone, though he was silently willing him to hurry.

"Alright," Victor said after he hung up. "I've left Anthony a message. Michael says he's the saint of lost things, is that right, Michael?" Michael just nodded and stood to the side, awkwardly.

"Good. When he gets in, I'm sure he'll call. I made sure to mention Michael is here. I contacted my precinct and Michael is working for missing persons today." He left off the 'instead of Homicide' part, because no one needed that. "They're doing me a favour. So Michael can take our statements and head back to the precinct and get both the NYPD and any contacts he has personally on it in one go. It helps Jamie works for us now. They know who to look for. Even without the missing person's report his picture will already be circulating to every beat cop in the city. It's not normal procedure, but the NYPD takes care of it's own."

Theseus just nodded when Victor finished. He remembered Jamie had been so proud to get that job. He'd been proud too. Jamie was a good artist and he was helping people. He just hoped it hadn't backfired.

"So, who first?" He looked around, not really feeling all that keen to talking to someone who just kind of looked like a blank wall. At least other people looked like it mattered to them.

"You were the last one with Jamie, it's probably best if you go first," Victor said to Theseus. And while he wasn't Michael's partner any more, it was like slipping back into a comfortable routine. Victor had always been the one to humanise Michael and here would be no different. It also helped Victor not to panic if he was helping.

Instead of letting Michael ask the questions, he let the angel take notes. "Do you want to go somewhere private, or would you like to stay here, Theseus?"

He shook his head. People would be best to keep him from utterly breaking down. "People's fine." he wouldn't divulge details either way. Some things were just private.

"I picked up Jamie on Friday afternoon. We went to my house, but he hadn't picked up anything for the weekend. He left on Saturday afternoon and said he'd go back home. I figured he'd decided to stay here." he ran his hand through his hair. "I was a little suspicious when he didn't come back. He was supposed to stay the weekend. But I didn't want to sound overbearing or jealous so I only called Sunday. It went to voicemail. And then Thomas texted me."

Victor glanced at Michael to make sure he was writing everything down and then he said, "do you know what time he left? If you don't know exactly, your best guess is fine. And did he contact you at all after he left, even a text or something?"

"Little after morning, almost around noon." he set his arms around himself and curled up on himself, trying not to break down. No one needed that. "He said he'd be back, but he never called no. He would, usually."

Seeing Theseus look so despondent made Thomas move over to sit beside him. He reached out to pat Theseus' shoulder, though if Theseus looked like he didn't want to be touched any more, he would stop.

"We've put a trace on his phone," Victor said, adding, "they should call me back soon and if the phone is on we could have a location. Theseus, was Jamie acting differently at all while he was with you? Did he seem agitated? And when he left, did it seem like he was worried about anything?"

He shook his head, unconsciously leaning into the touch on his back. "no he seemed happy, he was just going to get some more things that's all." His voice broke a little to that.

Kat noticed and reached her hand up to take Victor's. She knew he was doing this so he could help, so he could not focus on the scary possibilities but right now Theseus looked like he needed a break.

That was the end of the questions he had for Theseus anyway, but he understood the message Kat was giving him and was grateful for it. It was too easy for him to focus on one thing unfailingly.

Thomas kept rubbing Theseus' back as he said, "I was home all day on Saturday and Jamie never showed up here. He didn't text or phone either. I just thought he was with Theseus and decided not to come home."

"Did anyone else have any contact with Jamie this weekend?"

She smiled up at Victor and even she wanted to hug Theseus. He'd curled up into himself, like it would make it all go away. She knew a bit about his past and this couldn't be easy.

At the question she shook her head. "I texted him to hang out with me and Aoife, but I guess it never really got through." Kat winced a bit at a kick and bit at her lip, obviously worried.

Lena, who hadn't left Kat's side since Thomas had headed out to smoke, leaned in to ask, "do you need anything, Kat?" She wasn't used to pregnant people or babies and so she was sort of convinced Kat was now permanently in some state of requiring something.

Thomas swore under his breath and then he said, "he didn't contact any of the rest of the family either. Nor his mother who's on her way over."

"That helps us narrow down the time," Victor said, trying to sound reassuring. He was about to say something else when his phone rang.

He held up his hand and went to answer it. Then he frowned and said, "Thanks, Pete," before hanging up. "Jamie's phone isn't on so they can't trace it. They're going to leave an alert on it though, so if it turns back on, they can have us a location immediately."

"Fuck!" Thomas hissed, louder than he meant to.

Kat smiled to Lena, even if it was a little shaky. "no, I'm okay. Baby is just kicking a lot." she appreciated the concern however.

The curse made Kat jump a little and Theseus stood up and went outside to smoke again. Worriedly she toyed with her fingers. "We still have Hecate. And then Michael's Saint friend. Hecate'll just need something personal, so it'll be easy for her." she was trying to be comforting, while also being worried.

Still feeling shaky, Thomas looked slightly ashamed he had yelled. "Sorry. I can find something," Thomas said to Kat. "One of his paint brushes?" He would offer one of Jamie's sketch books because those were intensely personal, but he was a little worried he might never get it back and he felt protective over it for both Jamie's sake and his own.

"Anthony will require something personal as well," Michael mentioned and Thomas nodded. "I think I have everything I need for a report since I already have his staff photo. I could head back to the precinct now."

Thomas nodded and he disappeared for a moment into Jamie's room. When he reappeared he looked slightly sick. He handed over a paintbrush, but seemed a little hesitant to let it go.

She shook her head, "we're all on edge Thomas. It's fine." She didn't want him to feel guilty on top of everything. "But yeah. It's close to him. It'll work." It'd give Hecate a focus anyway. She knew the titan already had ghosts out as well.

Gently, Kat set her hand around Thomas' hand. "you'll get it back. I promise." She meant more then the simple paintbrush, and she hoped Thomas would know that.

Thomas finally let go of the paintbrush and watched as Michael left. He went back to sit down, letting his head fall into his hands.

"I just want him back," Thomas said, feeling desperate. "I don't know what to do with myself."

"I know," Kat said. She could see Theseus pacing and smoking outside and guessed he felt the same way. "We all do. But this will help. She'll figure out where he is in no time, and then we'll get him home."
