Who: Maddy Kemp & Nerd [Joss]
What: After the after-party
When: Late night on the 23rd/early the next morning

Maddy felt like there was a buzz under her skin, and not even the cold London night could make it stop. She'd spent the entire after-party talking to people she'd only ever seen on television, and she'd managed to keep it together and not act like a raging fangirl. She tugged her coat a bit tighter over her dress, doing her best to keep out the wind. (She'd had the dress altered so there wasn't quite so much skin on display, but she still really liked the way it looked. There was just not as much of her stomach out there.)

She'd had some champagne (alright, a bit more than some, shh), and it felt like the bubbles and the alcohol had merged in her blood stream, making her feel happy and light. She grinned at Joss as they left the party, her arm tucked into his. "I had a really great time tonight," she told him.

Joss had enjoyed the after-party, especially getting to speak to all the companions from years past, as well as previous doctors and Matt Smith. It had been a wonderful party, and he had even liked the green cocktail he had been served by an Ood. He still made sure to stick to one so he didn't get too silly. He was afraid if he got far too drunk, he would find Steven Moffat and scream at him a little.

Through it all, Maddy had been with him and she was like a bright star even in the midst of all the Who-greatness. Every time she smiled it made butterflies swarm in his belly.

"I had a great time too! Seeing all those cast members there was amazing!"

"I felt like I was in a completely different world, and I'm pretty sure there was a big, stupid smile on my face the whole time I was talking to David Tennant, but I can't even bring myself to care." "Your smile could never be stupid," Joss said with a shake of his head. "You totally charmed all of them. My UK self included!" The Nerd who lived between London and Cardiff had been going by William Lambert since early 2012 to commemorate both William Hartnell and Verity Lambert's contributions to Doctor Who. William was wonderful to be around and Joss was pleased he had been able to see him while they were here.

She shivered slightly under his hand, not because she was afraid, but because all of the hairs on the back of her neck were standing up and reminding her that yes, this really was real life. "I'm pretty sure you had something to do with me being so happy," she said, smiling. "And I couldn't do it on my own, but it's nice to feel...almost normal again. It's a good feeling."
