Vicodin smiled. "She does that sometimes," she agreed. "Takes people under her wing now and then. I don't have the patience for calligraphy, but it's beautiful."
Dani had been listening to her talk, and went to take a sip of her drink, only to find it was empty. "Well, damn," she said. "I'm going to get another drink." She pointed at Vicodin. "You be nice to him while I'm gone," she said, fighting the smile that was threatening to break out.
"Cross my heart," was the reply. Dani nodded once, then wandered off in search of the bar again.
