Thetis' head snapped up as she felt that unmistakable presence enter the ballroom. It made her knock back the rest of her drink in one go, before getting another. She sighed into her alcohol. If he wanted to be here, fine. The place was big enough that they could probably deliberately avoid each other, if it came right down to it. She'd come here to meet people and unwind, and that's exactly what she was going to do.
She started making idle conversation with a man dressed as a gangster, and they fell into a discussion about the golden age of mobsters, and Boardwalk Empire, and how the two compared. Thetis got so wrapped up, because she did love history, that she managed to all but put Peleus out of her mind.
