"I know," she said to him, although she didn't sound completely convinced. The last time the two of them had gone up against Lucifer it had been sheer dumb luck and a million to one chance that he hadn't just killed them both. There was no way they'd ever manage such a feat again. And while Mary was pretty sure Lucifer had lost interest in the two of them - he had plenty of other immortals to harass - she knew it would only take her own big mouth to put Huitzilopochtli back on his radar.
"Tell me something good to cheer me up," Mary said, nuzzling a little against his neck. She added, as an afterthought, "you smell good."
