Who: Hector and Cassandra
What: Here I come to save the day. Hector goes to get his sister out of the hospital.
When: Friday afternoon
Where: Capital District Psychiatric Center, Albany
Hector was one to protect his family. Even when no one had believed Cassandra he'd done what he could to be there for her. He'd seen how his family had treated her, like she was a rabid dog, and had promised her to always look after her. And she was his little sister. He felt inclined to look after her. And he knew he could do a much better job at it then whatever the doctors were doing to her.
And he was her family. It was only right to do this. He just hoped Andromache wouldn't have his head for it.
He'd driven to the hospital almost too quickly. He'd broken a few speed laws here and there, but he'd live. Once he got there he remembered he hadn't asked what they'd called his sister, or how he'd convince them he was her brother. But he was here now and there was no going back. With a sigh he walked into the hospital, walking to the front desk and smiling to the woman behind it. "I'm looking for someone who was here. Her name's Cassandra?"

"I'll need a surname," the woman behind the desk just said, barely looking up from her paperwork. "I don't think we have any Cassandras."
Cassandra - who had no name beyond this one that she'd been born with and the variations of it - had been waiting for her brother since that morning, readying herself for his appearance and telling the nurses that she'd very soon be leaving with him. They didn't really listen but since she was currently being of no trouble they allowed her to walk around freely.
So she'd come to sit down on the chair by the door of the ward and there the Trojan princess waited patiently.
And then Hector appeared at the desk, far away from her but close enough to been seen for the first time in centuries. With the side of her balled up fist Cassandra struck the glass window three times to get his attention.

He half wondered if Aphrodite had send him on some fools errand, but he hadn't angered the Gods lately. He gave them worship and sacrificed to them, and ducked under their radar as much as he was able. He also couldn't think of any surname his sister may be using.
He tapped his fingers on the desk, trying to think when the banging distracted him. He beamed when he saw his little sister and ignoring the nurse he walked to the ward and opened the door, uncaring if he wasn't allowed. Quickly he scooped his sister into his arms for a tight hug, "Cassie. Gods Cassie it is you." He drew back to smooth her hair back and give her a quick look over before kissing her forehead. "I'm here now alright, gonna try and get you out. What do they call you here?"

The nurse had called after Hector, chasing him down and telling him he wasn't allowed in there.
Cassandra clung to her big brother and inhaled deeply as they hugged. He smelled different, but he was still Hector. "Cassandra of Troy," the young-looking girl said as she gazed up at him. "She speaks but is unheard."
The nurse was beside them. "Oh," the nurse was saying with a little confusion in her voice. "We didn't know her name was Cassandra." Cassandra had been difficult for them to deal with as they had nothing official for her, being some sort of runaway. Only her obvious youth had kept her inside the facility and not put out on the street like the hundreds of mentally ill homeless in the country. But if she had family, they'd all be happy to see her with him instead.

He hadn't cared about the nurse. His attention had been on his sister and to get her out of there. They could yell at him all they wanted for that.
He gave his sister a soft smile and brushed her hair from her eyes. "I know Cassie. I know. I'm here now," he kissed her forehead again, "and I hear you."
He looked to the nurse, "it is. I'm her brother. She's been missing for a while. I'm taking her home." He'd do whatever it took to take care of Cassandra. He'd failed so horribly before. "Just, give us a minute." With a smile he nodded to the nurse, waiting for her to leave before looking to his sister. "They look after you alright Cassie?"
He took her hands with a sigh, "taking you to live with me alright? Andromache's here too, and you'll have a little niece or nephew to play with in a few months." He smiled at her. "you'll be alright. Safe."

"The nights are cold and men move in the walls," Cassandra said with a frown in answer to his question of how she was being treated. It was much the same here as it was everywhere. "I've no voice and it's dark, but a god walked through this house more lost than I."
She gazed up at him and then smiled. "I told them you were coming."

He brushed his hands over her hair and nodded to her comment. He didn't really know what she was on about, but he wouldn't leave her here. "I know he did. He led me here."
"Then you've got your things I imagine." He released her to look around, "get them, I'll sing what they want me to and take you home. Or are you hungry? I don't imagine hospital food is the best."

"He got lost, Hector," Cassandra told him sadly. "Lost here with me but I joined his bacchanalia until the lady of love came to kiss him free."
She pressed a hand to the side of her head and squeezed her eyes shut. "Hector, there's too much here, she speaks in tongues she shouldn't know. Take me away before the ships return."

"Alright," whatever she was telling him he couldn't make sense of it. But he wouldn't leave her here. "I am. I am." He looked to the nurse when she returned, singing what he needed to and taking what bags he could before leading his sister to the car. He'd get her something to eat regardless before taking her home.

"Outside is better," Cassandra said as she was led to the car. She chewed on the sleeve of her shirt - the one she'd been wearing when she came in but she didn't remember where from - a little nervous at all this space but already breathing easier.
"Where is home now?" she asked her brother with a frown.

He nodded, leading her to his car and putting her bags inside before opening her door to guide her to sit down. He went to his side, only closing her door when he was in the car.
"New York, it's a city a bit of a drive away. I have an apartment there, with Andromache." He'd already said this but didn't know if she'd heard him. "And there's a room for you there, and we have a balcony and a view of the park." He smiled at her and started the car. "Do you think you'd like keeping Andromache company when I'm working?"

"Andromache," Cassandra said, remembering her as she said the name. "If she'll have me."
She looked at him seriously from her spot in the passenger seat. "We're not in Troy, are we?"

"Of course she will," he'd talk to Andromache. He wouldn't want to have either of the women alone. He'd look after them both, and see what he could do to make things easier on Cassandra.
He shook his head as he started the car then started to drive, "no Cassie, not anymore."

This is not Troy, Agamemnon had told her once when he'd made her kneel before the altar of Zeus and pray with him, after she'd been stolen away from what was left of her family.
The words that she used to reply to Hector now were the same words she'd said to her keeper then: "where a Helen is, I think is Troy."

He glanced at her, and he couldn't say she'd be wrong. But Paris wasn't here and last time he'd seen Helen she'd been happy with Patroclus. Besides there was nothing more to fight over. Those wars were old and gone.
But he didn't say that. He just smiled at his sister, "I know Cassie. Now, do you want to eat something? We can stop if you like? Anything you like."

Helen was here and she would bring destruction again. But even if Cassandra knew that no one would listen to her about it. Helen was bad news always.
"Turkey?" Cassandra said, straightening up in her seat.

"I can't drive to Turkey but I can do the next best thing." He smiled at her, willing to indulge. "We'll stop at a Turkish restaurant." He knew a few along the way that he hoped she would like.

Cassandra had meant the bird, but Turkish food was better than that now that Hector had brought it up. It would be food like home. Cassandra nodded and then smiled brightly, the haunted look leaving her eyes already. "I would like that."

"Good. I'm glad." He wasn't above spoiling her a little. He'd been pretty terrible as a brother so he figured he would make up for it.
