"Okay...this is too much for my corset. Be right back." Lena disappeared into the bedroom and emerged a minute later wearing boxers and a large t-shirt. She was still in full make-up but at least she could bend over now.
She went back to sit by Thomas' side and she rested her hand against his back. "Okay, Thomas. If the men jumped you, why did they inject you with heroin and put the syringe in your pocket?"
"I don't know," he wailed into the carpet. "I wouldn't lie."
He had a point there. Even when he had left the house and gotten drunk, he hadn't lied about it. Lena started chewing the inside of her cheek again. "It just doesn't make sense," she finally hissed out.
