Who: Theseus and Ariadne [maybe Dionysus later]
What: It's just drinks
When: Saturday
Where: Naxos
Theseus admitted the moment he stepped up to the door of Naxos he felt a shudder shoot down his spine. It was cold and a little too much like déjà vu. With the way he'd been running from Olympians (mainly his father) Theseus didn't feel anyone was on his side anymore. He had wiggled his way into a heaping mess and actually felt shit about it. He was in so deep now he wasn't sure there was a way to get out of it. He'd become a toy for two forces, Lust and Poseidon, but he'd dragged that mud around until it ruined someone else's life. He'd only met her a few times, his granddaughter but the reminder behind what he'd taken away from her was greater than some ancient necklace Poseidon wanted to get ahold of. He wasn't good at making amends with matters of the heart, it was a surprise Theseus even had one. He usually left his baggage at the door and kept going. This was the first time he was actually dragging it around with him.
He wasn't sure why he'd agreed to meet Ariadne. He didn't assume any good could come of this either, not with her husband probably a few feet away. He'd known for thousands of years that Dionysus was just looking for an excuse to rip him to shreds. Hell, he wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a slew of Maenads hanging out at the club ready to draw and quarter him. But, the chivalrous man inside of him still took the bait and went forward. He'd already been physically and mentally beaten, his rope was too short now to pull himself out. What was the worst that would happen? Death? Or a reminder that he was still a decent man under his cowardice?
