"Sounds great, Jamie." Serenity hesitated a moment, and then she poured coffee for Thomas before getting one for herself too. She knew last night had been a one time thing, but this was different. This was bonding with her son and reconnecting with the one mortal who had meant more to her than anyone else for a long time. It felt strangely right.
"Go sit down!" she instructed Thomas, who complied, looking a little hangdog. He went to sit beside his son and then, because he felt a little whimsical, he planted a kiss on Jamie's hair.
"Wouldn't trade you for anything," Thomas said, even though he knew Jamie knew.
Serenity just smiled to herself as she set about making them some lunch.
