Who: Greed, Zoe, cameo by Theseus (on phone) What: Greed is not adjusting well to this thing mortals call ‘Love’, phone calls to Theseus for a trade... Where: Greed's apartment When: [Backdated] June 30th Warnings: When Sins don't know what to do with L-word things... Status: Complete
Zoe had not made things comfortable by releasing those three words that his Sin was still adjusting to. He wasn’t panicked or anything but he hadn’t slept at all that night feeling a little queasy. He should have sent her home but instead he’d just gone on to work, and he would have been happy with work had she not tied his tie in an unbelievably sexy knot. When he came home he was a tad grumpy. The Sin was still trying to process what the boy had known since Lithuania. All in all, he was handling it like a five year old.
He brought in a pizza, knocking over the empty bag of Chinese take-out containers to set it on the countertop. The same countertop Zoe had been nearly naked (save the shirt of his pooled up around her waist) the day before confessing her inner deep feelings...nearly naked. He was trying to get around why that night ended up with scary movies and Chinese.
He came in with a huff, his business man attire still on, but not at all the same attitude. “Why did you say that to me?” Grumpy Sin was still trying to figure out the catch, because only Virtues and nice people had those sort of things. This was a BIG item he’d just stolen right out of her insides here and he had no idea what to do with it. ______________________________ Zoe had spent a good portion of the day out and done errands and a little bit of shopping and then gone back to Greed’s. She knew he was a little weirded out since the day before when she told him she loved him. He’d been off at night, and in the morning and now that he was home again he was still... not himself. She wore jeans and a fitted tank, she was going to go for the pizza but at his words she had a feeling the whole thing might just be for him so instead she dumped the empty cartons in the garbage and then stuck her hands in the back pockets of her jeans. She raised her brows, “Said what...?” she literally hadn’t said a word since he got home. ______________________________ Now she was just acting dumb. She knew what she had said. Saying and knowing were two different things. He’d wanted to hear it from her for quite a while, but now that it was in his possession he was fumbling the ball. It wasn’t exactly how he’d thought it would be. For one she’d said it when the Sin was clearly aware. “You know what!” he pointed a finger at her, throwing up the pizza box, but he just stared at it.
He didn’t even want the food right now. That’s what was wrong with this picture. The Sin wanted sex. He wanted food. He wanted to be mean. Instead there was this cute little thing standing right in his kitchen like some kitten he had no idea how to feed. He’d not even known what to do with a baby, he sure as hell didn’t know what to do with love. “The L word.” Like this he couldn’t even get it out of his mouth. It was sitting on his tongue frozen, almost like he couldn’t even pick it up to talk. _____________________________ Her eyes widened and she leaned back when he thrust his finger out at her. She seemed surprised but it made sense. Was this what he’d been keeping bottled up for a full day? Her mouth opened but she was searching for what to say, “I.... I’m sorry?” that was weird, she wasn’t sorry. “I mean no... why did I say it? Because.. I do. I think it all the time.. and you already knew.” she said in a bit of accusatory frustration because he did. She knew he knew she loved him long before now. But something about her saying it was making him freak out. _____________________ He shut the pizza box with a grumpy face, stepping around the side of the counter and leaned against it. "I did!" It didn't make his fumbling any better. "And its a little weird." He wiggled his fingers as if she has some disease and he wasn't sure about it. _____________________ She was at a loss. She wanted to touch him but didn’t think it was a good idea so kept her hands in the back pockets of her jeans as she looked at him questioningly, “It’s weird that you knew or it’s weird that I said it?” she just wanted to be clear. _____________________ "Why didn't you just say it then? When we were in Lithuania? When you should have said it." He ran his hand into his hair. He already felt a bit warm and like a rock had just settled in the pit of his stomach. _____________________ Ah. Weird that she said it. “Because I couldn’t.. I wasn’t..” she paused and took a breath, “Okay, I can see you’re a bit.. freaked out. I don’t think me being here is helping. Do you want some space? It’ll be like after Lithuania when you took some time. I can go home and I’ll wait until you’re ready to see me.” she could do that, she would prefer it to this antsy feeling like he was going to break up with her. She didn’t want him to tell her to leave, it was easier giving him the option like she was okay with it. ___________________ The fact that she set up the road of her walking out and give him time alone---it made him mad. She wasn't going anywhere. "Who said anything about leaving?" He crossed his arms, still having not even loosened his tie. The Sin still expected some net to come flying out with the Virtues all lined up in a circle. But that net never came. He slid slowly down the counter in small steps nearer to her. He was conflicted, his stomach still in a knot of barbed wire. ___________________ She sighed, “Well you don’t seem to like me very much right now and maybe you need some time.” she looked to the side, getting frustrated herself, “I am in your space.” for the first time in a long time his apartment didn’t feel like a place for ‘them’. She felt like she was there unwelcomed and had barged her way in and he didn’t want her there. She’d never been at his place for as long as she had now and she didn’t know if it was getting on his nerves or what. ___________________ "I don't like you very much right now but..." He was cut off by her phone ringing. That only irritated him more. Who the hell was calling her now when there was this very important discussion going on. He did want his space to himself, he just wasn't good at being alone. ___________________ It hurt to hear him say that but she wanted to listen to what he had to say, all of it. And then her phone rang. Really? She didn’t even look at who was calling, just ended it and threw the phone on the counter. She looked at him with a look that clearly said for him to go on, she was listening. ____________________ There was a pound against his temples, a blood vessel about to burst until that phone was far, far away. He rubbed his temple lightly hoping it relieved this added tension he was wading through. "I want you to leave but I don't want you to leave." The boy was still taking a little backseat while the rest figured out how to steer. "Hearing it just lines my stomach with nails. I thought you'd say it when I wasn't...." He waved his hand over himself, "when I wasn't full-fleged from hell Sin." ____________________ She gave him her full attention and then understood a little better, “I didn’t plan on saying it, it just came out.. because that’s how I feel. About you, all of you, even the Sin. I told you, I don’t see different you’s.. it’s a complete package.” She slid her hands into her front pockets, “How about this.. I won’t leave your apartment but I’ll make camp in the living room tonight. And if you wanna hang out and see me, you can, we don’t even have to talk if you don’t want t, and if not, you don’t have to but you’ll know you’re not alone?” she knew he had a thing about not being alone, especially in these vulnerable states. _______________________ "You know how ridiculous that sounds? No normal person would do that..." But she had learned how to juggle him. How to work around what made him uncomfortable. The fact that she would do it anyway---it made him settle down. At least the nails in his stomach weren't all pointed in the opposite directions now.
He held his hand out for a shake because thats how this side of him made deals, though looking over her fat lips made him want to take an alternate route. _______________________ She gave him a lopsided smile, “Oh you thought I was normal? That’s cute.” she was in a relationship with him, normal was never part of the equation. But she squished her lips together and gave a nod putting her hand in his for a firm shake. At least the sofa was comfy. _____________________ He took hold of her hand firmly, then jerked her forward after a minute. He inspected her face for possible lunging towards her mouth. Eventually the boy convinced him it was a worthy deal maker. _____________________ Her eyes went wide when he pulled her forward but then closed when his lips were almost on hers. It was a kiss she needed, just like him, she liked the reassurance. And in all honesty, she didn’t want to go so was more than happy with their agreed arrangement. She didn’t touch him or hold him, she wanted to give him space. So after the kiss ended, she went to living room with her PJ’s and there was already a blanket there from the night before. She lay down but like hell she could sleep so looked at how had called her earlier, probably Gabe... but she was surprised to see it was her grandfather. She frowned, no message, she wondered what it was about. She’d have to call back in the morning, if Greed overheard her he might flip out. ___________________ At that Greed was finally able to loosen his tie and take off the high dollar suit. He peeled off the coat and cast off his shoes so he was comfortable. "You can have a slice of pizza." He didn't want his girl to starve and be a dried up body on the couch like the goldfish he'd once killed. As long as she left him the rest. He let Zoe set up camp while he went to his room ___________________ She did take a slice of pizza, not that it was enough but she wasn’t very hungry anyways. But it was the rare occasion he offered so she wanted to take him up on it. She was sure to wash her hands when she was done, heaven forbid she get grease stains on the couch pillows. Which she snuggled when she curled up. _____________________ The rest of the pizza he devoured, jumping into bed without saying another word to her. She looked cute nestled up into the pillows. He let her lay comfortably for a few hours, except he couldn't sleep. The bed was huge without anything to hug his arms around. He padded out into the dark hallway in his boxer shorts, rubbing the back of his head. He didn't even look up, she must have been conked out. He shook her (not gently, but not harsh either) so she could move over. _____________________ Zoe missed having him to snuggle too but pillows were a nice second choice since he never let her have any when he was around. It was difficult to sleep but finally managed it only to get woken up by him. She looked at him with sleepy confused eyes and then scooted her butt over when she saw what he wanted. Her face going right back in the pillow after there was room for him. She still wasn’t going to touch him or anything until he was ready for it. __________________ Once he'd plopped on the couch getting settled he watched her still curled up with the pillows. He poked her with his finger on her butt until she moved again. "Are you asleep?" He whispered in the dark. __________________ She squirmed when he poked her butt and kept her eyes closed and back turned to him as she hummed, “Yes..” _________________ He kept poking repeatedly until she squirmed. He wanted to be sure she was awake. But when she still didn't crawl near him he tugged her legs out so that he could drag her into his lap. Well try was the key point. _________________ She went whoa! when he dragged her over to him and she ended up sprawled across his lap. He didn’t have to try very hard since she was surprised and a little lethargic. She blinked several times and looked up at his face in the dark, “Can’t sleep?” she asked dully because what the hell, he asked for space and was now dragging her literally into his lap as if she was the one who left. _____________________ "No," he grumped looking down at her expectantly. "Well?" She was supposed to fix it. "Come to bed with me." It was hard for him to sleep alone. They had made a deal. He wanted her to join him. _____________________ She gave him an incredulous look and waved her hands in front of her as she still looked up at him, “Do you remember a few hours ago when you wanted me to leave and didn’t want me to leave and we came up with this arrangement?” she dropped her hands, “If I go with you, there’s a good chance you’re going to wake up and get all huffy I’m in your space. So I think I’ll stay right here.” __________________ "So..." He retorted with a fat bottom lip. He looked at the empty bed through the open bedroom door. "The bed is bigger." He knew she was right. It didnt mean he wanted to go back th bed alone. He shoved her feet down to stand back up. As soon as he was in the doorway he made a dive back for the couch where he settled in beside her, this time snuggled up to her back. __________________ She just gave him a look when he whined about the bed being bigger. She was surprised when he decided to eventually go back to the bed but it was for the best and she nuzzled back into the pillow. She squealed loudly in surprise when suddenly he dived back and she was captured in his arms with all of him pressed against her back. She wriggled around for a second and then gave up with a short defeated laugh. He could stay there with her. It meant he came to her and he couldn’t complain in the morning. This was his choice. But her body was relaxed against his, she wanted him there and was glad for it. __________________ He liked feeling someone squishy against him that wasn't a wad of comforter or a mound of pillows. She was the only girl he did that with. Lust found it an annoyance, and this still wasn't a little boy cuddling his mother. He wiggled like one though. Just when it seemed the coast was clear he wiggled again to get comfortable. This wasn't going to work with his butt hanging off the edge of the couch. __________________ Zoe squirmed in his arms when he couldn't get comfortable and then wriggled around until she had given him more room. They'd slept on the couch before together but it was in a specific position. He could experiment about the position all he wanted but she was not going to walk to his bed only for him to get mad in the morning. ____________________ A shake there. A push and shove here. Greed was not getting comfortable. He squirmed around like a little slug finally drawing out a loud, obnoxious groan. Then without giving her any warning Greed rolled her so he could position her on him. Instead he just collapsed onto the floor on his ass. He dragged her with him do she landed right in top of him. Then he was comfortable.
He woke to the light practically blinding him as it peered through the window, which did not have the same curtains as his bedroom. He grunted but only because he was blind with his eyes closed, so he hid behind Zoe's hair, sprawling it out against his face. ____________________ She let out a yelp of surprise when he rolled them and she fell. She blinked as he broke her fall and then sighed and snuggled into him, her living boyfriend mattress. She pulled the blanket from the sofa so it landed over them and fell asleep. In the morning, she was still sound asleep snuggled into him and turned her head to avoid the light, her hair falling off his face. ______________________ He tugged on her hair so that it would shield his eyes like a pair of shades. Clearly her hair was plenty thick, but when she moved he cowered away as if he had grown fangs and hated the light. ______________________ She buried her face into the crook of his neck, one of the benefits of being on top so it was a nice little visor from the sun. She was half awake but she was really not a morning person, especially when she didn’t know what kinda mood he was in. But she had to call Theseus back.. but she also knew that if she moved first, Greed would be grumpy about it. So she stayed where she was which wasn’t a bad place to be. ___________________ Her hair was not protecting him from the brightness. He was going to turn to dust. "Zoe..." He whined now spitting her hair out if his mouth as he flapped like a bird. He attempted to sit up, his hands back behind him, Zoe now propped up in his lap. He was still not awake enough to be moving much better than a zombie looking for brains "Need caffine. Or kisses," he grumbled. ___________________ She got moved into a sitting position still against him as he tried to sit up. She was like a cat in his lap still leaning against his chest. She couldn’t provide coffee from here but she tilted her head back, eyes still closed, her lips puckered. He could kiss them if he wanted. __________________ Blindly he sucked on her lips, missing at first and hitting her chin. It had not felt as plush, though equally soft. "Mmmmmm" he mumbled against her lips. "Mint." From her toothpaste. The floor however had not been the best campsite. His back was stiff. __________________ Her eyes stayed closed but she started laughing softly when she felt his lips on her chin at first before they rested on hers. Her hand rested on his chest during the kiss and she had to remind herself to not put her arm around him. When the kiss broke, she sighed, “Are you getting up..?” she asked but her hand was already going for her phone on the table. _____________________ He grunted again in some zombiefied noise sliding out from under her to walk like the dead to his bathroom. He would be a while, Greed primped almost as long as a woman. _____________________ She washed her face, brushed her teeth, did the morning routine and then slid on a pair of shorts but didn’t bother to zip or button them up, her sheer undies peeking out. She knocked on his bathroom door, “Chance...?” she had her phone in her hand, “Um... so my grandfather called last night.” she was talking to him through the door, it’d be easier to do it this way. “So.... if you’re gonna be a few minutes, I’m just gonna call him back...” she was going to go sit on the bed but paused that was his bed. Ugh. She started to do up her shorts first. ____________________ Greed poked his head out of the shower, water dripping down his face. "What?" He wiped the bangs out of his face. He ran her words through his head. Her grandfather? "What does he want?" He grumbled through the door. ____________________ “I don’t know...” she yelled back through the door, “That’s why I’m going to call him and find out, okay? Do you mind if I sit on the bed?” she added that because she wanted to be close to him when she did it so he wouldn’t feel she was trying to hide it from him. ___________________ "Will you be naked?" He teased with a fake laugh. He was tense with her grandfather butting into his happy time again. He went back to his shower, the quickest he had ever taken. His hair was still damp when he padded into his bedroom hoping to catch the phone conversation before it was over. ___________________ “Not unless you plan on taking my clothes off.” she said idly and sat down on his bed anyway. She hit Theseus’ name in the call log but ended the call before it went through. Biting her lower lip she didn’t know why she was all of a sudden nervous. She weighed the phone in her hand and then took a deep breath and just called again, not even noticing that he’d come in the room as she waited for Theseus to pick up. ____________________ He hopped on the bed, watching it bounce as he focused on her. "I can do that," he pulled her legs out straight to flatten out on the bed while she waited for an answer. Greed had just tickled her sides the moment Theseus picked up, the demi-gods voice sounding a lot friendlier than he had come across in the past. ____________________ She gave him a look as he moved her legs and bent them again, trying to get him away before he actually did start taking her clothes off. She wasn’t wearing much, just undies, her cami from the night before and some shorts. “Can you not... it’s ringing..!” she started to laugh when Theseus’ voice came on the line and she squirmed to try to get away from Greed, her free hand pushing to get his away, “Hi! Mr. Moreau...? It’s Zoe..” ___________________ Theseus cringed at the formalities. It sounded so....old. "Zoe, you don't have to call me Mr. Moreau." He sighed thinking he was interrupting even though he wasn't the one that called. Hr cleared his throat. Time to get down to business as rough a start as it was. "Glad you called. I was wondering....about that boat." He twirled his finger in the air as he talked, propelling it as if it could help him steer through this any faster. ___________________ She frowned a little, he was acting like it was her idea to call him.. she was just calling him back but okay. “Yes...? Did you want to buy it?” since she’d mentioned it to him before. She didn’t even look at Greed as her hand grabbed his that was lifting her shirt and moved it away but kept a grip on it so he couldn’t use it for further mischief. ___________________ That was okay, Greed could use his other hand. He snaked it up her leg with promising tickles while she tried to talk. That was until he heard the word "buy" and he perked like a cat, buy he didn't stop with those feathery tickles.
"I was thinking about it. I would. I do actually." Theseus wasn't being smooth about this at all. This was a nightmare. ___________________ Her voice was a little more giggly than she’d have liked and she kept squirming her legs to try to get Greed’s hand off to no avail. And since both of her hands were in use she pressed her lips together to keep any un-granddaughter like sounds inside her mouth. She lifted one leg and crossed it with the other to trap Greed’s hand inbetween her legs at mid thigh so he’d stop doing that. She rolled a little towards him and mouthed, ‘STOP IT’. She let go of the hand she was holding to cover the mouth part of the phone and whisper to Greed, “He wants to buy the boat.” his hand was free but maybe he wouldn’t use it.. as she uncovered the mouthpiece, “Okay, I think something could be worked out. Can you hang on a minute?” she covered the mouthpiece again not that it did much good and looked at Greed with a raised brow asking in a whisper, “What’re your demands?” he could get whatever he wanted for that boat, he had Theseus by the balls. ______________________ Greed's hand was stopped which soured his mood, hut the dollar signs were blinking across his eyes. To Greed this was his gameshow. He snaked up her body, kissing her thigh where she wouldn't let him caress with his hand. He gave her a kiss with a giant ass grin. "100K." It was worth so much less, but he was going to squeeze out as much as he could. ______________________ She took in a slow breath as she watched him kiss her thigh, there was something arousing about it. She raised her brows when he gave her the price tag, she didn’t know how much the boat was worth or how much he sunk into renovations already but if he said 100k then she knew it was a price he came to for a reason. She uncovered the phone and used that arm to put around his neck and bring him in closer, she looked in his eyes as she said into the phone, “The price is $100,000.” ______________________ It was double what the boat was worth. Even with the renovations price tag, that was a heavy stone in Theseus' allowance. "Are you serious?" He squeaked out. The sweat was practically cascading down his neck.
Greed smiled against her skin. "120k now." And the longer Theseus waited to answer Greed would raise the price by ten. ______________________ She gave Greed a look as he jacked up the price but she smiled at him, even moving her legs to free up his hand as her own played in his hair. “He says it’s $120,000 now.. and I’m pretty sure he’ll just keep going higher.” she said in a winced voice to warn her grandfather that he should probably agree or just walk away. “I mean, if you wanna discuss it with him.. face to face...” she trailed off hinting towards Theseus meeting them, he’d have to anyway to give Greed the money but she rather be there so the men didn’t harm each other. ____________________ Theseus' mouth was literally on the floor gaping wide open. "But that's double its worth?" Greed laughed hearing the Greek panic. He added another ten to the price tag. Theseus by this point was on the floor. He felt sick. But he wanted that boat.
"I can't have that in a day..." Even if he coukd get it. It was his way of saying he'd meet, but he needed some time for that kind of paycheck. ____________________ Zoe covered the phone with her thumb over the mouth part. She nuzzled Greed, “Do you have to be so mean?” he didn’t need to answer that, it was a rhetorical question. She looked at him and shrugged in a ‘well...’ way, “What do you wanna do? He says he can’t have it all in a day.. and we’re gonna have to meet with him even to do anything.” Greed was running the show here. ___________________ "Give him a week." Greed wasn't going to let him dangle over the open pit to snap him back when he got scared. He wanted to see just how far he could take this. "If he wants any more time, be prepared to shell out another couple hundred." ___________________ She laughed softly, “You’re horrible.” and then bit him lightly on the nose before she got back on the phone with Theseus, “One week and if you want more time than that then the price will go up.. you have my number so we can arrange something later if you’re ready.” _________________ "Those are the ground rules?" He wanted to make a few of his own, but Theseus' mind was still reeling over the price. He was clouded by greed to have what belonged to him. It was the only piece he had in his life that he could claim right now. Poseidon, Lust, now Greed and even his own granddaughter had him on their ropes. He was getting tired. _________________ She was starting to get uncomfortable with the conversation, Theseus’ tone was... less than familial. Oh she knew this wouldn’t end in some big family reunion but the truth was she wanted to see her grandfather again and she’d prefer it if he didn’t hate her (despite her having more than ample reason to hate him). “Yeah.. I’ll talk to you in a week.” the funness had gone out of her voice and before he could respond, she ended the call. She dropped the phone on the bed and put her other arm around Greed’s neck, resting her brow against his. He was all the family and home she needed. Even if he might be kicking her out soon... __________________ "Granddaddy not say something you like?" He knew his stakes were high, but Theseus would come through, he didn't have anything. "He didn't bail did he?" Greed wanted his money. Zoe had played her part pretty perfectly. __________________ She didn’t answer his first question, she just wanted to be close to him right now. But she knew a giant roll of money was doing a strip tease and throwing bills at him inside his head so she didn’t expect him to be in tune with her gross neediness at the moment. She moved to rest her head on his shoulder, “No, I don’t think so. But I guess we’ll see in a week.” ____________________ He felt her shiver once as he wiggled his nose on her cheek. "Good because then I might have to get persistent." With those kind of dollar signs running around, things could get heated. He ran a thumb across her plump lips. "Nervous?" She was now into another day longer in his place. Maybe he didn't mind so much ____________________ Her freckled face tilted back a little to look at him, “A little...” she said honestly. But she wasn’t thinking of Theseus at the moment. She liked being there with Greed, him cuddling her and touching her but she couldn’t relax and enjoy it because she felt like he could kick her out at any second. A part of her was seriously regretting blurting out the words to him. He’d already known, did she really have to say them? She looked away and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, “So... do you wanna.. grab some food before you drop me back....” she trailed off so he could decide. It was unnerving not knowing where she stood with him. ____________________ "Can't you cook for me here?" He nuzzled her nose for another kiss. She was pulling away and he was doing what he always did...take. He wasn't ready to let her fly away, even if she had dropped the L-word bomb.. ____________________ She gave him another kiss and looked at him with worry in her eyes, “We can cook here..” she hesitated and then continued on, “But I.. want.. you to be sure. If you do need space from me then that’s okay.” she looked in his eyes saying firmly, “I am your girlfriend and I am not going anywhere.” she frowned, “As in this relationship. If I’m home, I’m still your girlfriend. So if you need space, then I rather you take it than slowly hate me for it.” they’d done this before when he was taking time to see if he wanted to be in a relationship. He hadn’t liked not having her there but it had been necessary. She felt like he might need space but just didn’t want to be alone at night. But she wanted him to be honest with her and tell her what was going on with him so they could deal with it together. _____________________ She recognized when he needed space faster than he did himself because he was so focused on what she wanted to take away. Greed didn't want to be alone when he came home from work. It made his apartment dark and gloomy. Even though he could never have someone permanently live with him, he worked ways around to sate his need for physical contact. He fingered the collar of her shirt, his eyes fixed on her mouth again, as if itwas some target and his mouth was the arrow. "Then who do I have to keep me warm at night?" _____________________ “Anyone you want. You remember our deal.” she never stopped him from being with other girls, but there were consequences to being with other girls in the form of her and a certain big tree he hated. “But.... I’ll tell you what. I’ll leave my window open every night and if you get...” she smiled, “..cold. You can come sleep with me and leave in the morning before I get up.” it would minimize them not wanting to let go of each other. She knew that when he’d stop needing his space, he’d stay in the bed past morning. But right now, no matter how much he whined about it, she had a strong feeling that even if he came at night and took her offer, he’d be gone in the morning. __________________ "Deal," he grinned against her lips, letting himself taste that pretty little mouth. It was one of the most addictive things about her. He was a bee to a flower, its nectar too sweet to fly by. The problem with all the prospects of other women was they didn't give him the same thrill. Not even in their lips.
