While Rose kept up with day to day activities, she didn't always have the time to keep her own journal updated. She had a wedding to plan, and her job often kept her busy. She did know one of Victor's friends was in the hospital, and send as many comforting messages to her brother in law as she could. She'd informed him to come by for some food and if needed to get some things off his chest. Plus she wanted to catch up with him.

She'd made one of his favorites and smiled as the door rang, hugging Victor once the door was open. She drew back and frowned, "you look terrible. Here come inside food's just about done. How bad is this?"

As much as Victor liked taking care of people, he couldn't help that he also liked being fussed over. It had been kind of a rarity in his life after his parents died, though he had to admit he could always count on his in-laws to do so.

He smiled tiredly and nodded when she assessed the state of him. "I'm exhausted and starving, but glad to see you," he said truthfully. He felt emotionally raw and he hoped he wouldn't cry on Rose's shoulder. "It's not great at the moment, actually."

	Victor put his elbows on the table and he dropped his head into his hands so he could rest it for a moment. "Thomas is just in a hell of a lot of pain. AVMs can do that and it'll sneak up on you. I was in the hospital twice and though my pain was physical and not...whatever his is. Mental? I remember it being horrible and all-consuming." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Gently she set her hand on his shoulders, "it certainly sounds terrible. And it's good that you're there for him but don't lose track of yourself. Some things you can't fight Vic." 	He lifted his face to chuckle and nod. "I know. I do." He took a long, grateful sip of the water. "We're doing it in shifts to keep him distracted because honestly that was the only thing that helped for me. He finally fell asleep and I didn't want him to wake up alone is all." 	He dug into the food quickly, too hungry to try to be polite about it. He hadn't noticed how hungry he was until he left Thomas' room and he was just glad he hadn't had to wait longer for something to eat. 	"It helps you made yummy food," he countered with a wink. "And Kat will appreciate that. I'll do so." The idea that he would elope and leave his pseudo-family out of his wedding made him laugh loudly. "Of course not! No, but while we were in Greece I did ask her to marry me and she said yes." She grinned, "well thank mom. Apparently it runs in the family." She nodded, "Good. I like her. She makes you smile."

She grinned then and went to hug him, "oh that's fantastic! Congratulations love. Now you definitely need to bring her by. We can celebrate." She drew back with a smirk, "and you can bribe me not to spill it to mom before you get to tell her. She's going to freak."

"And there's much happiness to embrace, even if I have to go without caffeine for a little while. She's carrying my child, I hardly think it's fair to just force her to go through all the things that come with it by herself while I drink mochaccinos in front of her face."

He fell quiet for a moment then and he sighed. "I can't help but worry for her safety all the time though. Sarah...she was pregnant when she died." He knew Rose had known that, but he felt he needed to explain his random fear. "And I don't want to lose someone else that way."
