WHO: Jessie Northrup & Hati
WHEN: Friday night
WHERE: Somewhere in the city
WHAT: Random character interactions and me trying to find ways for unlikely characters to meet.
WARNINGS: tba depending on where this decides to go.

Biking home from a late night closing of the bakery, Jessie's bike dropped its chain and she swore under her breath and swerved off the street, trying not to get hit by a car. After a few moments of angry honking directed at her, Jessie was on the pavement and dragging her bike out of the way of the foot traffic. She'd need to tell the people expecting her that she was going to be late, so she moved against the brick wall and out of the way of the well-dressed people starting their Friday nights so that she could make a call. (She felt rather undressed beside everyone else this evening.)

Nearby she saw a man, attractive in his own strange sort of way, and smiled at him in a friendly way. "My attempts at eco-friendly biking aren't always the most successful," she said. She wasn't sure why she said anything at all, but something about the man unnerved her a little.

Had this been in his forest, he'd have hunted her. But this was the city, and doing that would be detrimental. Not just to him, but to his brother and pack. So he just studied her with eerie calm for a moment before pushing off the wall.

"Need a hand?" Pretty in her own way, this one. But she didn't call to him like Red did. And playing the sheep was occasionally amusing.

"Nah," Jessie said with a wave of her hand. "This isn't the first time this bike has tried to kill me."

She knelt down beside the bike and smiled up at him. "Have we met before?" Jessie couldn't believe she'd actually just used that sort of pick up line as soon as she did.

It made him smile, even if she had no idea. It was an amusing game, at least. "I'm sure I would remember you," He tilted his head but kept his distance. He knew this dance.

"My name is Hati Hróðvitnisson."

"Heroovitnisson?" Jessie asked, with an interested head tilt. "Is that... Swedish?" Hathi was definitely foreign as well, and she had to admit there was something about the guy that didn't seem local. Which... was that racist on her part? "I'm Jessie," she said, not giving out her last name. She knew at least a little better than giving a man she'd only just met her full name.

He chuckled, "close enough, and no. Close though. It's Norse." With a wry grin he ran his fingers through his dark hair, "I kill the stereotype of blonde Norse wherever I go."

He nodded, "pleasure."

She didn't really know where the Norse came from, mostly just knowing they'd once been Vikings. She felt too stupid to ask if Norse was actually a country of its own as well.

"Yeah," she agreed as she pulled on the chain to try and get it back over the sprocket-wheel. "I thought Vikings were all blonde hair and horned helmets and axes?" She grinned up at him. "Did you leave your axe at home?"

Wow, that was really lame.

He was always proud when he blended so well. It was the mark of any good predator. He laughed to her question, "damn. Knew I forgot something. I guess I have to return my Viking card now." He motioned to the chain, "you sure you don't need a hand there?"

The first guy Jessie decides to hit on a guy in game and it's HATI.

He had a good laugh and it made Jessie smile again, genuine and warm. "No more raiding for you," she lamented with him. Then, looking at the chain in her hand, she sighed and admitted, "maybe a little manly strength wouldn't go amiss."

"I gotta call the Thursday raiding party then. I probably missed the boat though." With a smile he walked closer and knelt down next to the bike to help with the chain.

Greta says "hey, that's MY wolf! Also... try not to kill innocent girls, you guys?"

"Are you guys working with yachts these days?" she said as he knelt beside her. She shifted just enough that he could join her there but no more than that. Jessie was very aware that her leg touched his as they knelt there.

Grinning he shook his head as he toyed with the chain, "I hope not. I'm not terribly great with boats or water. I guess that's probably bad for the whole raiding thing." It wasn't hard to press the chain back where it needed to go. "There we go."

Then Greta will make sure to rub his belly. And other things.

"You'll have to move onto land raiding," Jessie suggested. "Pillaging villages and the like. Well," Jessie corrected, "raid the Village."

She reached out and took hold of the chain, giving it a pull to make sure it was on right. "Thanks. You're a good viking."

He chuckled, "I'll pass it along to the rest of the vikings." With a smile he rose, "I try to be. Would it be too forward to give a number?" He didn't own a cellphone, too complicated, but he did have a regular phone he checked once in a great while.

Jessica smiled at him and then nodded, "I'd be okay with that actually. I don't usually try and pick men up on the side of the street with my bike." She gave a soft chuckle.
