"Oh, she can tell you the heroic one too," Thomas relented. He had already told Jamie all about his misspent youth and the dangers of drugs. And just maybe Serenity wanted Jamie to see her as heroic. "I've told him I did stupid things when we were younger."
"Really?" When Thomas nodded, Serenity shrugged. "Okay, I'll tell you a funny one after so we don't all get depressed. He had a dealer who used to sell him all sort of things. Some he didn't even know what they were." Thomas took that moment to sigh and lean his head back against the sofa.
"Sometimes even I'm shocked at how stupid I was."
Serenity continued. "He bought a bunch of pills and pretty much took them all. So it wasn't surprising he ODed."
"I think we can all just be glad it only happened once," Thomas added.
