It was so strange to hear Jamie talk about summer plans. When she had last seen him, aside from the yelling match, he had been a screaming infant. She had talked to him for nine months while she carried him around inside her, and now here he was, talking about Europe.
She swallowed roughly and was glad when Thomas shoved a mug of coffee into her hands because at least then she had something to hold. "I...I like...coffee," she said, feeling ridiculous. "Heh. Uhm, sounds wonderful. I haven't been to Greece but it looks beautiful in movies."
Thomas handed a mug to Jamie too before sitting down beside his son. "They're going to make sure I stay away from ouzo."
That, at least, Serenity could laugh at. "Oh god, Tommy. Never again."
