Thomas tried very hard not to think about what that meant. "Medical testing is a great thing, but I look forward to not being stuck with needles, at least for a while," he admitted.
"They gave Lena a spinal tap yesterday. She made me sing her Cure songs while it was happening to be distracted. Sorry...more rain clouds. She was very good about it, but it was the first time I'd seen her back since- There were whip marks. It-it was horrible." The last few words were said at near whisper.
Victor leaned forward with his elbows on his knees. "Did you talk to her about it?"
"Yes," Thomas nodded. "I didn't want her to think I was avoiding it or anything. I just feel so horrible for her and I can't really do anything and it's so frustrating."
