WHO: Erica & Columba
WHEN: Tuesday night, around 2am
WHERE: His apartment at the Juniper Hotel
WHAT: Posting flying visits

For the last two weeks, Erica had been in Warsaw working on a translation of an Old Akkadian tablet their museum had just acquired. It had been translated already but not since 1911, and as any expect on ancient languages could tell you, they'd come a long way since then. Every new discovery continued to add to their knowledge of the Akkadian language, especially the older version, and Erica was at the forefront of that.

It was late when she flew back into New York City, and rather than make the drive back down to Philadelphia she'd arranged to stay the night with her friend Columba. He said he didn't mind her coming in at such a ridiculous hour, and so she taxied to his hotel home, calling Manuel to let him know she'd arrived safely back in the country and that she'd be home tomorrow.

The Juniper Hotel had felt strange to her the first time she'd gone there, something not quite normal about it. That had all started to make sense when Columba had explained that it was owned by an Egyptian goddess and had others of her kind living there as well. Erica didn't really feel immortals, but she supposed the presence of so many of them permanently in once place must have left enough of a mark for even half-blooded thing like her to feel it.

She knocked on Columba's door and when she answered she smiled. "Entirely too long of a flight," she him.
