Who: Greed and Zoe
When: Monday [Backdated].
What: The flight back to NY gets delayed, Greed tries for a makeshift ‘first date’ but as always there are interruptions of the Sinly nature.
Where: Kansas airport
Warnings: Fluff, priests, pain and first dates
Status: Complete
They didn't get to stay in Kansas too long since Zoe has a new job and Greed had a full time job that he had been neglecting. They used their time together wisely by staying shut up in that room and kissing and being tangled with each other for as long as possible. Just a couple of days and then they were back at the airport with a few pitstops of him being sick. They were in the terminal waiting to board when it was announced that due to some fuckery, the plane wouldn't be taking off for a few hours yet so they were stuck there inside the airport.
_____________
Leaving a deadzone was sometimes harder than getting to it. His body hated him with a passion once all that hellfire Sin was thrown back in. It was like a thanksgiving turkey being stuffed for dinner. Everything got packed in tight and his system went on a tailspin.
He'd ran off to the bathroom again before the plane was supposed to board, vaguely getting a clip of the message regarding their flight. The little boy who had been in the stall next to him ran out crying to his mom who was standing just by Zoe's seat. He mumbled some man was dying in the bathroom and he couldn't go pee-pee.
Greed had sounded like he was dying but he'd just dry heaved a bunch of times with nothing left to come up. The last hit of stomach acid had been an hour ago. It still made him look like he'd been hit by a truck. He splashed some cold water over his face, rinsing out his mouth with some little bottle of freshner so he was able to return. He threw on his brown leather jacket and headed back to the seats, wondering why they hadn't boarded yet.
______________
Zoe overheard the kid and kept an eye out for Greed. When he showed up, she had a sympathetic look on her face and put an arm around his waist, “You okay?” she knew he wasn’t but there was really nothing else to ask. She rubbed his stomach and put her head on his chest for a moment, “It looks like we’re stranded here for a few hours so you might as well get some rest.” she pointed to the sign next to their flight that now flashed DELAYED.
_____________
"I feel like I'm being gutted how about you?" He took the seat beside her, eventually bending over at the waist at feeling his stomach lurch again. Only this time he felt it was just hungry.
The little boy made a high pitched sound pointing his finger at Greed. When Greed looked up the kid shut up immediately. Greed liked messing with kids, but that one had a high pitch shrill that he'd used in the bathroom and now it was busting his ears again. He could turn things ugly faced. The kid sensed his doom and popped a finger in his mouth to suck while stealing a quarter out of his mother's pocket.
Greed sat back up. "Delayed? Fuck." He looked over his shoulder at some of the airport shops but this place was so small it was basically a few feet of nothing.
_____________
“I’m sorry...” she said and rubbed his back when he bent over again, dropping a kiss on his shoulder. She hated seeing him sick because she knew it wasn’t fun. She looked at the kid and offered a smile, knowing that out of her and Greed she was probably the less scary one.
When he sat back up, she shrugged, “Yeah, hopefully it won’t take too long. You want anything?” not that there was a ton of stuff available but she wanted to make him as comfy as possible.
________________
"Food. I feel empty." He looked pale too, his blonde hair out of its perfectly quaffed shape. His eyes were also a little dull despite the way his body was trying to bounce back into full speed.
He couldn't remember if last time this place had a restaurant or not. They had a few hours to kill...he had an idea. "Wanna have dinner?" He turned back to look at her. It was his way of saying 'let's have that date'.
__________
Zoe had no idea that’s what he was asking so shrugged, “Sure. But.. why don’t you sit and rest and I can go see what they have?” to her she just wanted him to feel better.
___________
He wanted to see himself. He stood up despite her small protest on wobbly legs. "I want to see." Walking might do him some good. He strapped his carry on over his chest, teetering a bit but urged her to start walking. He didn't shy away from taking her hand when she did.
__________
She held her hands out as if that would stop him should he fall as she looked at him, worried. But he always got his way so she sighed, “Alright..” when his hand slipped into hers, she squeezed it, “It’s probably nothing special.” she didn’t know why he was so curious about the selection. Well, it was Greed, he probably didn’t want to miss an opportunity to steal something. Condiments maybe.
______________
He was persistent. He walked slow, having burned out more energy earlier than he was putting back in. His Sin side was still suffering the after effects of love and gushy stuff that wasn't usually in his system. He knew that he'd done Kansas to get a piece of ass, and it had been damn worth it despite the sickness. Like an untamed dog, he'd continue chasing the cars even when he got hit.
They walked a short distance coming to the end of the terminal. There was nothing more than a coffee shop a vending machine and a magazine stand with the usual local knick knacks. The coffee shop had some deserts at least. His stomach growled unnaturally loud. He instantly glued himself to the glass but nearly everything in the case was gone save a few muffins and cookies. "Is this it?" He asked in a squeal that could have matched the kid from the bathroom.
____________
She smiled because he was damn cute if not ridiculous. She pried him off the glass, “Come on, let’s check the vending machine, I spy sandwiches. Maybe a juice box or two if we’re lucky.”
_______________
He dragged his feet as she pulled him with her. He'd been craving pastry. When they got to the vending machines there were three in a row. Sodas, candy and chips. All of them stuffed. Glutt would have had a field day.
Greed started to tally up and point at everything he wanted. "I guess this will have to do." He peeled off his carry on, rummaging through, dropping things that most wouldn't think necessary for a carry on. He dragged out a blanket and sat it right in front of the vending machine. He started showering that damned blanket with items as he pulled out a wad of cash and coins and started collecting.
______________
Zoe put in some money and got some horrible looking sandwiches, she didn’t think candy and chips would cut it for a meal. Though they’d need it to swallow them down. She looked at him with the blanket and laughed, “What are you doing?”
________________
"It's a picnic!" He threw his arms up as if she were incredibly dumb for having asked him that question. He spread out the wrinkles in the blanket piling up certain foods in certain spots.
______________
She covered her mouth with her hand to swallow her incredulous laughter, “A picnic? You want to have a vending machine picnic in the middle of a kansas airport?” it was so unlike him, “Why...?” she asked and remained standing.
_____________
"You wanted a first date didn't you?" He was a little put out. This wasn't the plan but he was damned determined to make one out of this so he could eat.
____________
Her brows shot up, “This...” she laughed and hell why not, nothing else they did was conventional. She gave him a wry grin, “Were you going to ask me out on this first date?” she folded her arms over her chest.
________________
He had just opened a snickers bar ready to cram it into his mouth when she asked him that question. "I have to ask?" He stared at her with his head cocked to the side. He remembered when she had him share his cookies with her and how that had results that benefited him. He handed her the candy bar. "Date?"
________________
She nodded when he seemed so confused as to he had to ask. She waited expectantly and then made a face as he asked her out with one word. “Wow. How can I refuse.” she said flatly and swiped the candy bar from him, pointing it at him, “I should say no. I would if I was smart.” but she wasn’t going anywhere.
_______________
Greed's eyes narrowed, crawling over to her so that he was practically sitting on top of her. "I laid out the blanket and everything. You're not saying no." He pouted.
______________
She smiled at him because how could she not? She leaned back as he was practically in her lap and she slipped, almost half laying down as she looked up at him, “That is true. You put a lot of thought into this.” she lifted one hand and touched his cheek as she gave him a peck on the lips, “Yes, I’ll go out... in? with you.” since they were in an airport having their picnic.
_____________
There was the glimmer in his eye and that cheeky smile that seemed to melt her right to butter. He scurried behind her like a happy puppy, setting his back up against the wall beside the vending machine, stretching his legs out on either side of her.
It was the middle of the afternoon, but there were still a few more people trickling in through the terminals. They of course drew stares and attention, it’s the way Greed liked it. Attention good or bad was attention. Right now though, the only attention he wanted was hers.
______________
She leaned her back against his chest and put her arms on his legs, “Ooooo a Chance chair. Very comfy.” she was the opposite in that she didn’t like a lot of attention but as long as people were leaving them alone she was okay. She didn’t like negative attention especially but she felt safe with Greed and he was a great distraction.
She broke off a piece of the snickers bar and looked over her shoulder, holding it up to his mouth, “Don’t bite my fingers off..” she teased since she knew he was really hungry.
______________
He gnawed on her neck with a playful growl , his hands raking up and down her arms. That little taste of snickers in all it’s caramel and chocolate goodness tasted marvelous. He actually made a noise from the back of his throat that could equal any groan he’d made during an orgasm. “Tastes sinful,” he teased nipping her fingers for another bite.
To ordinary people they were just rambunctious twenty year olds acting like teenagers. The priest opposite to them watched with a voyeuristic eye. He couldn’t look away no matter how hard he tried, which was part of those sin vibes billowing out around them. In his element Greed couldn’t just turn it off. They were still in Kansas but his Sin was bouncing around with bells and whistles. The priest signed over his forehead and shoulders in silent prayer. There was something incredibly disturbing about the young man that he couldn’t put a finger on. It unnerved him. So he kept staring, still like a cold statue.
______________
She laughed when he growled and pretended to chomp on her neck. He really would eat her up if he could, she was sure of it. She blushed when he made that noise and leaned a little away from him, “Really? Was that necessary?” but she was grinning and breaking off another piece. She hadn’t noticed the priest as anything out of the ordinary yet. With that display, she was sure Greed would get a couple of disapproving looks.
______________
“What?” he said through a mouthful of chocolate, swallowing down what was left of the piece she’d given him. “Was I loud?” he laughed. He took another bite, raking the bit of caramel that had wrapped around her finger with his teeth.
The looks did grow when he went to make that noise again, this time just for the sheer pleasure of it, just because she had pointed it out. The priest continued to watch them interact. The young man, who looked innocent enough, was something far more deadly. There was a pamphlet in his pocket that he thought to hand out, but he watched for a little while longer.
______________
She blushed again when he started to make the noise and shoved another piece of chocolate in his mouth with a grin. He made sounds like that when they were alone in bed and they were most definitely not alone now. “You’re a menace. I should break up with you.” she leaned back against him and took a smaller bite of the candy bar, her eyes going to the priest for a moment before she leaned her head back and said quietly to Greed, “Can church people tell..?” she was curious because either that guy was staring at her because she was cute or he was staring at Greed because he wanted to exorcise him. And Zoe didn’t see either option ending well for the guy.
______________
It was the best sex he was going to get while waiting for this plane, he might as well enjoy this candy bar in his mouth over her. He had literally shoved everything out of his system that he’d eaten in two days. She didn’t understand how good it felt. He swallowed down the chocolate lump, wiping his mouth where a hairline string of caramel had settled on his chin. “Can they tell?” Greed shrugged. “He probably thinks I’m a demon.” his eyes went wide in exaggeration. “Some people have a sixth sense.” The priest did look like he was ready to beat his head in with a cross and a vat of holy water.
______________
Zoe did not look amused, she didn’t like the idea of some religious person trying to cast her boyfriend back to hell. Despite him being from there. She kissed his caramel-y lips and stayed snuggled against him, “Alright but stay close to me. I don’t want you to wander off and he traps you with some hocus pocus and I don’t see you for months.” she looked at him, “Cause ‘it’s not my fault some priest exorcised me’ is not an excuse I’ll accept.”
_____________
"He's not going to do anything. He's clinging to that Bible like a lifeline. This isn't Supernatural. He can't do anything." Whatever she was scared of he found hilarious. "Besides what's he going to exorcise other than my empty stomach?" Greed threw a wink in his direction, snuggling his arms around Zoe's waist.
________________
She felt calmer with his arms around her, “Oh right, because that’s crazy. Me dating a Sin and getting stalked by Virtues and getting told off by a Saint and being related to Greek Gods, all of that..” she made a ‘meh’ face, “That’s just normal.”
She didn’t know what the priest could do but she was new to this world, she didn’t like taking chances. She picked up a bottle of juice and took a sip, eyes going back to the priest for a discreet look before she tilted her head back, her nose brushing along Greed’s neck as she said quietly, “I don’t know, but I think I could take him.” she was joking of course, a bunny rabbit could beat her up. But when she was in his big strong arms, she really didn’t need to worry about anything.
_______________
Greed snorted a laugh, his forehead flopping onto her shoulder. Then came the giggle. "You couldn't even hit a bunny." He kissed her neck where there was still a light visible mark from where he'd sucked it to the surface the day before. She wasn't as weak as he made her out. Zoe was made of stronger stuff than muscle.
He gave the priest a dangerous glint in his eye, the flash of his teeth so bright, there was no way he was innocent. The man fumbled, turning away to say another prayer. After much debate he finally got up from his seat and walked over to them. He clutched the cross around his neck staring at Zoe as if he could warn her. "You don't know me, I'm sorry, I just..." He fished around in his pocket for the pamphlet, his hand shaking as he gave it to her, but Greed intercepted it, dropping it in Zoe's lap. He shook the priest's hand and his face looked struck with horror. Instantly he recited the first thing he could say that seemed to relate to the boy. " You enter with greed; You exit with fear. You love with greed; You fail with fear." Greed instantly looked murderous. What normally would have been a compliment was an insult. He curled his free arm tighter around Zoe as if the man were threatening to take her away.
The priest did have Greed's hand which always made influence stronger. The physical touch. "Thank you," he grinned again this time with venom, giving a sturdy shake. By the time the man got home to his church he would take millions from his own collection plate, shaming himself as the figure he was.
______________
Zoe grinned as Greed was affectionate, she put her hands close together, “Maybe a tiny bunny..” but then the Priest was there. She couldn’t help but stiffen, her run in with religious nuts so far had not gone well. She reached for the pamphlet but Greed got to it first. She looked taken aback by what the guy said. Did he know? Could he tell? She didn’t get long to dwell on that as first she started to feel sick and then his grip, normally safe and loving started to feel like a python. She squirmed, “Chance..!” she said trying to get his attention, a pleading look on her face. This wasn’t a bruising grip in the throes of passion, he was actually close to hurting her.
_______________
The priest tried to draw back his hand but Greed had a lock on it. There were things fumbling into his head that seemed like nothing more than a spark. Just a thought. But that single thought would roll over in his mind a million times before he even got back to his seat. Greed finally let go of his hand, the priest tripping backwards over his feet at the power that boy had in his grip.
Greed hadn't even realized he had jumped so quickly into all his bad traits with Zoe there. It was part of dealing with a Sin. His bad was still a looming cloud for a few minutes. That grin on his face was unnaturally big, like a wolf.
________________
He wasn’t paying attention and she was feeling like she wanted to throw up. He never used influence on her but when he did use influence in general, it was like mist that she could feel. But he’d never used it like this before, where it was just pure malice. It was akin to the night his car had died. She tried saying his name again but his grip was now actually hurting her. She didn’t want to but he was just gone right now so she clasped one hand with the other, moved her arms forward and rammed her elbow into his chest as hard as she could to get him to let go.
__________________
Her hit shoved him harder against the wall. Even those tight upper muscles were no block against how hard she jabbed him. The air was literally flung from his chest out and he flopped to the side to try and breathe, his arm uncoiling from her.
He tried to curse at her but he couldn't even talk, just taking a whole hell of a lot of time to get some air in his lungs instead of gasping. That had been as bad as being kneed in the nuts.
_______________
She tumbled forward when he let her go and took in a deep breath. She instinctively moved away from him and put an arm over her stomach around the area he had his grip, it still throbbed but she was okay. If he had kept going he would have bruised some ribs and George’s one day he’ll hurt you thing would come true. She really didn’t want the Saint to have the ability to say ‘I told you so’. She took a moment and while Greed was bent over cursing her out, she stuffed the pamphlet the Priest gave into her carry on. She was not happy with the guy. Greed was docile and sweet as a kitten until the Priest poked him with a sharp stick.
She knew he wasn’t happy with her with the way he looked and she scooted towards him on her knees, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry...” she said as she touched his shoulder to try to help him sit up.
________________
He tried to sit back upright, finally able to breathe without taking large gulps of air. At first he flinched at her touch instinctively, like he'd been burned.
"Fuck you," he said in a pitched voice coughing out his words. The priest sat stunned, but he did not look back in their direction. Greed rubbed his chest where she had jabbed, looking down. "Did you stab a hole in me?" He said in a hiccuped breath.
_______________
Zoe drew her hand back and blinked when he cursed her out. Her face darkened with anger because his lovely Sin juice was also running through her system and it was a struggle to fight it. “No, but I wanna punch a hole in your head so I’m going to sit over there.” she pointed to where the large windows were.
She got up, rubbing her temple as she grabbed her carry on and went to sit near the windows. They needed to calm down and cool off. She bent her knees and wrapped her arms around her aching middle protectively as she leaned forward and watched the plane get ready.
______________
Greed was not happy for a good five minutes, slapping his back up against the wall still rubbing at his chest. He checked it over and over again as if he was bleeding out of some gaping hole. After he'd had some time to cool off he glared at her from a distance but it turned into a longing. She looked like a wounded kitten. He wanted to pet her until she purred at him again.
He waited until she looked his way and sighed heavily. It was the first time they'd been at gripes with one another without really saying a word. He piled the food in the middle of the blanket and stuffed it into his carry on. Greed stumbled off his knees once the bag was full to his feet. He stood over her in a shadow for the longest time before sitting down, laying his blonde head on her shoulder.
_______________
She jerked her shoulder away and stayed in her defensive position, turning her head away from him. She wasn’t happy with him and the fact she couldn’t be mad because he didn’t even know what he did wrong. But she was mad. She didn’t like him lashing out at her like that. She was mad at herself that she had to hit him. Mad at the priest. At George, at the Virtues. At everyone. It was hard enough already that they were going back to New York where she didn’t get to be with him and his awful sister would dig her claws into him. No, all this had to be shoveled onto the shit pile. She felt sick, upset, and her middle seemed to ache more with all her horrid thoughts. She just wanted to be left alone as her face crumpled and she tried to keep from crying.
________________
He didn't like it when she jerked away. She didn't even say anything. It hurt a little more because all those human feels from a few hours ago were still lingering in the air despite the mean guy she had witnessed pop out.
He moved to the other side of her, swapping seats as if he were playing musical chairs. His finger moved her hair back. She was near tears and that upset him.
_____________
She didn’t look at him even when he touched her but it was clear his touch was not welcomed. She didn’t like the negative vomit that filled her when he influenced others and she hated that he didn’t even know he was hurting her. It was all pounding in her brain and giving her a headache. She couldn’t even explain it to him and a tear slipped down her cheek.
________________
"Would you not do that?" He unscrunched her from the ball she was in, and if she resisted he made a motion with his mouth in protest, pointing a finger at her. Once he had free range of her face he wiped away the tear. It was offensive. Her tears always made his human side cringe.
_____________
She did resist but when he finally had her open, she felt vulnerable. She smacked him with her hands several times, hitting his arms and chest, “Would you go away!?” she didn’t feel like herself and felt horrible. Him asking her to not cry because he didn’t like it just unleashed more tears.
______________
Despite that gaping hole she had nearly punched through his chest, her hits were nothing. He let her hit him as many times as she needed to. "Are you done? Got it out of your system now." As the priest shuffled by quickly, Greed could feel and see in her eyes he'd put on maybe a little too much for his show. He'd been offended by the priest not because of who he was but at that moment when he had had Zoe in his arms the words were a direct hit to her. To him. To loving him and in a human weakness he had lashed out. His sin once again played defensive because it cloaked what was already a vulnerable Greed. His faces were protection.
_______________
She let out a frustrated noise when he patronized her. She still didn’t say anything, just slumped in her chair, one knee bent, foot up resting on the edge. She folded her arms across her chest and still looked away from him.
_____________
She was playing his game. Act like a child. He let out his own frustrated huff. He opened up his carry on, which literally was a suitcase on its own. He took all the food and the blanket and deposited it into her lap and the chair beside her. He strapped the bag on his shoulder and walked off.
He was gone for at least fifteen minutes fighting all the shit in his bag in the bathroom to find what he was looking for. The comic book nerd in him had a suit that wasn't plaid or with a tie. It was expensive, not some knock off copy, but out of the ordinary nonetheless. When he walked out she better had look at him with stars and stripes if she wasn't going to look at him like this.
_____________
She panicked internally when he walked off but not even in this state would Greed leave anything behind that he deemed his. She still didn’t look, her hands holding onto the blanket, both feet back up and resting on the edge of her seat. She wiped her nose with the back of her hand and her eyes, having cried while he was gone. She never liked him there when she cried because she knew he hated it but she couldn’t help it.
She didn’t look up when she heard him coming back, it was only after some people started talking and the little boy from before cried out, “Mommy, look!” did she look up. Her eyes grew big when she saw him, “Ohmygod..” was all she managed to get out because out of all the things he could have possibly done, this was not one she would have expected.
_________________
He dropped the carry on at his feet with his arms out in a 'tada' motion. "I couldn't fit the boots in my suitcase." So instead he still had on his clunky black boots. He didn't have the helmet or the gloves, but with the blonde hair and stature he could have passed as a double.
__________________
Zoe just stared at him with her mouth open, “You’re a nut.” was all she said and then shook her head and sighed. It had broken the tension that was for sure. She took his hand and pulled him to her to sit down next to her. “You’re mad at me for hitting you?” she asked. He might not be anymore but he had been.
_______________
He was enjoying all the gawking when she shoved him down by his hand. "Heeeeyyy..." The kids were already poking around chairs and their mother's legs to look at him. He expected her to give him a compliment. He pouted when she didn't, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Oh you're talking to me now?" He stuck his nose in the air, imitating her. "You practically stabbed me!" He huffed rubbing his chest which now had a big star covering where she had poked.
__________________
She gave him an annoyed look when he acted childish. They were quite a pair. She didn’t say anything when he complained about how she almost killed him (with the way he made it sound). She was a modest girl but this was something he had to see because she didn’t think he realized he did it or would believe her if he didn’t see it with his own two eyes. So she lifted up her shirt till the bottom of her bra and exposed the lower half of her torso, and right across where he had been holding her so lovingly earlier was a bright ugly red mark like a band across her skin.
_______________
His lip twitched when her shirt went up. His eyes were fixed on the red, it looked like the rings of Saturn on her belly. He'd already scarred her once. His fingers dove out, gently touching it as if it were fire.
"I did that?" He asked in a shocked but soft voice, eyes still fixed on her middle and not her eyes.
____________
Zoe didn’t want to make him feel guilty or bad, she wanted him to understand why she did what she did. She sighed, “You were holding on really tight.. you kept squeezing and I tried to tell you but you weren’t listening.”
She looked at him, her hand touching his as she continued quietly, “I’m sorry I hit you but..” she didn’t finish her sentence but they both knew he could have bruised her ribs or worse if he had kept going.
________________
He chewed on his thumbnail for a moment just staring before pawing her shirt back down quickly. It was a wonder security hadn't already come over to see what was going on. "I thought it was cause of the priest." He didn't realize he'd been holding on so tight. "He pissed me off. Telling you loving greed meant failure and shit." He looked like a wounded puppy. "Fuck Zoe," his voice was all whiny. He'd nearly broken her. Physically this time.
________________
She gave him an ‘are you kidding me’ look, “After everything we’ve been through you really think I’d give a damn about what some guy with an old book has to say?” she looked to the ground and huffed out some air as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, “Wow, you really do not know me at all...”
_____________
"They can be persuasive. That's why I like fucking with them..." His eyes dropped, looking up a little more pathetic. At least it would buy him sympathy. He dropped his head, leaning on her shoulder again as he had tried earlier. "I just got so angry. You were there in my arms and it made me mad to hear that." He was more sensitive with the real boy still hanging on.
____________
Zoe wasn’t selling sympathy. She pressed two fingers of her hand into his forehead and pushed his head off her shoulder, he was not going to just puppy dog his way out of this. “They can be persuasive but what you’re saying is you don’t trust me enough to not listen to them. I know you got angry, I was angry too but you completely forgot me and almost hurt me because you were so blindsided.”
_______________
He sat up straight with his mouth open. "I do so!" How dare she say that. He wagged his head side to side with a face, "I just..." It was like worrying for her soul. There were things he took more defensively than if they'd been home. "I didn't mean to."
_________________
Now she gave him a sympathetic look and slipped her hand in his, “I know.” she said gently, “But you and me are a team. And if after seeing your dark side, your bad side, your good side, your kind of insane family, heaven, hell, and everything in between, I’m still with you.. I think that’s a pretty good sign that it’s gonna take a lot more than some jerk in a collar to split us up or think he knows us.” because no one knew them except themselves. They were such an odd couple to the outside world.
_________________
That was still a new concept. Them. His hand practically swallowed hers, his fingers clamping down around her delicate ones. He swung her hand back and forth. Other than Lust, sometimes his siblings, Greed did things on his own. Zoe really was something unique.
He made a motion with his other hand. "Let me see your phone." He remembered that picture of Lust she had saved so many months ago. He held it out so that the camera got a glimpse of them both in the frame. When his thumb pressed the button he turned to kiss her cheek. Now she had been kissed by Captain America.
________________
She gave him a suspicious look but handed her phone over. When she saw what he was doing, she was surprised, her brows going up like ‘really?’ she looked at the phone and it would have been a bad picture because she was so stunned except the kiss on the cheek also caught her by surprise, giving her cheeks a little pink and her lips a laughing smile when the picture was taken. She took the phone from him and looked at the picture of the two of them in awe. It was their first picture together. A digital one but still.
Her eyes were shining as she kept looking at it, they looked like a real couple, despite his costume. She touched the screen and looked at him, “I can keep this?” it was something most couples took for granted, something so small but it meant the world to Zoe because they couldn’t have it.
_______________
He wanted one for himself, but if Lust found it his cover would be blown. He kissed her cheek again. "If we're a team at least one of us should." He needed something he could hide.
He looked out the window at the plane but they still had time to kill. He twirled his own phone in hand but didn't turn it on. "Can you print it?"
_________________
She smiled wide as she looked at the picture again and he kissed her cheek. She touched his cheek and brought him back again for a thank you kiss on the lips. “I wish we both could.” she looked at him and nodded, “Probably.. but I don’t know how wise that is.”
________________
Greed stamped his foot. “But I want one!” She had to know just how bad. It wasn’t comforting at all to know that right now she was right. “Kiss?”
________________
She kept looking at the picture, ridiculously happy with it. “When don’t you want something? Maybe one day if--” she pressed her lips to stop talking and then looked at him and smiled brightly to change the subject, “Kiss? Yes!” and she smooched him.

“If what---” he was stolen for a moment with her kiss. It made his stomach roll because they were leaving one of the only places that allowed him all the physical attention that this excess Sin required. He lingered on her lips a moment longer, tongue lining the crease of her top lip. He’d try anything---”We could move here,” he said suddenly as if it were the most brilliant idea he’d had all day.
________________
She blinked and was stunned when that kiss broke and he blurted out his idea. She just blinked again and then slowly smiled and let out a small laugh. She touched his cheek, she really did love him. She sighed, giving him an eskimo kiss and rubbing their noses lightly together, “You’re the world’s best boyfriend.” of course they couldn’t move there but it was the most amazing, sweetest thing for him to even suggest it.
________________
“Ten minutes ago I was the worst.” He wasn’t laughing though. He was completely serious. He held out his hand, counting on his fingers all the pluses. “I wouldn’t hurt you, we’d get to have sex, no one would interfere, I’d grow old. It’s perfect.” Only he knew he wouldn’t be content with throwing his ‘sin’ away. He’d forgotten that she had said it was his sin that made them possible at all.
________________
“You’re that too.” he really was both. She didn’t get he was serious until he mentioned growing old. She looked startled and then her features softened. “Chance.. you’d want to grow old? Get wrinkles and white hair and saggy skin?” he was the vainest thing on the planet, him even suggesting growing old showed how serious he was. She was touched but kinda saddened.
________________
“Ehhhh, saggy really?” He put his hands over his perfectly toned skin, trying to imagine it looking like the backside of an elephant and he blanched. His hands then went into his hair, and then realization hit. “My balls would hit the floor!” It made him shudder. Okay maybe that should be axed.
It was just that he wanted to keep her. That was one way to keep her. He supposed at one time he’d even thought he’d grow old with Josie, but like with most things unlike himself it didn’t last. It was why Greed was constantly searching for more.

She gave a helpless smile, “Yep. So while I think it’s beyond sweet you wanna move here, I don’t think you really wanna move here. Besides, you love your job. And you just got your new apartment last year.” she leaned against him with a sigh, “And who would Gabe live with?”
________________
“You could just park him right outside the apartment. He’ll blend in nicely with the sidewalk and the rest of the trees down the street.” Greed was still uncomfortable with the idea of Gabe. Zoe insisted on calling him by that name but Greed liked ‘tree’ much better. It suited.
He sucked in some air through his teeth with a pained expression. “I really don’t want my balls to drop to the floor...” things defied gravity when you got old. He’d seen it on the subway systems. It wasn’t a pretty picture.
________________
Zoe laughed, “Don’t be mean to Gabe. I still haven’t told him I’m dating you again.” it was a conversation she wasn’t looking forward to. He was like her brother. Her very big overprotective brother who happened to hate Greed.
She snuggled into his side some more, still feeling too exposed. “You’re gonna make me get plastic surgery when I get older, aren’t you.” she said in a resigned voice that didn’t sound thrilled.
_______________
His arm settled over her shoulders, his chin nestled on top of her head. "A nip and tuck. Maybe some silicone." He had a hard laugh, putting his arms around her, gently this time. He rested his chin on her shoulder. "You still haven't told me what you think of the suit."
________________
Zoe wrinkled her nose and hit his chest lightly as he folded her into his arms. “You’re awful..” Despite the near injury not too long ago, she still felt safest in his arms. Her body actually started to relax against him, it’d been tight and tense since the priest. She smiled and shrugged, teasing him, “Mmmm... it’s alright.” she rubbed her lips together.

"Alright? Just alright?" He nudged her neck with soft kisses, his large arms keeping her warm. Finally he had his moment again with her in his arms. Where he wanted to be, keeping her from the rest of the world. No one was going to take that away. "Come on," he teased, biting down on his lower lip. "Everything is accentuated in all the right places.”

She laughed at his kisses and grinned, “Okay okay, maybe it’s... nice.” she turned in his arms to look at him, “Maaaaaaybe I noticed its accentuating features.” her voice got lower just for his ears, “And maaaaaybe I’m a tiny bit sad that we’re already on our way home...” she leaned up and gave him a long, slow kiss, just enough to give a taste of a burn and suggest that it was really a shame they couldn’t spend a few more days in Kansas.
______________
It was a slow burn, every extremity of his body tingled even when she pulled her lips away. His head was still seeing a few floating stars. He still had his eyes closed when she said that, a mischievous smirk creeping up. "We could make a detour. Just a few days," his smirk grew, "still haven't left the state."

She chuckled and pecked his lips as the announcement was made, “Now boarding...” she gave him a couple more small kisses, “Aww, c’mon Cap, gotta save something for next time.” she looked him up and down, “You’re wearing that back to New York, huh.” it wasn’t a question, she was just confirming what she already knew, that people were going to see Captain America snuggling her on the flight.

"Don't have to get on the plane," he tapped his leg, it bounced up and down in anticipation. He gave her those puppy eyes when she suggested stashing the suit for later. He was tapping out his funds. A few more days would deplete his account. Work was a good option. He loved his job, his paycheck, and everyone else's.
He gave her a sound kiss, her lips were still moist. "Totally. It's almost comfortable." The kids lining up were already pointing fingers and smiling. "If the plane goes down I can't fly. Just so we're clear."

She grinned and nodded, “We kinda do... your big bed is being delivered today too. You have to be there to sign for it and make sure the delivery people don’t wreck your stuff.”
She stood up and took his hand, tugging on it in a vain attempt to help him up, not that he needed it. “And that’d stop you from trying?” she raised a brow. She’d never known a small thing like skill, logic, or knowledge to stop Greed from attempting something he wanted to do.

"I'll throw my arms out like wings and strap you to my chest." He was a red, white and blue tower. He nearly jarred off her feet when she pulled him up. He was the size of a house compared to her dainty curves. His arm still went around her shoulders, enclosing her safely to him as they boarded the plane.
Once they were seated he leaned over for another kiss.

She smiled because she really didn’t doubt he would do just that. A lot of people were put off by PDA’s and Zoe was a shy person by nature but she found she really liked how affectionate Greed was. It made her feel cherished.
She gave him another kiss when his lips showed up and she gave him a few more. When they were in the air, she put the arm rest up, her feet up and folded her arms in his lap, lying down and using him as a pillow in the small space.

A little girl poked her head over from behind their seats with a big gaped grin on her face. She giggled looking down at Zoe and then to the 'Captain'. Greed imitated her smile (minus the gap) as she clamped her hands down on the seat. "Cap has a girlfriend," she kept smiling which made Greed laugh. The little girl greedily stole a kiss herself off Greed's lips. "I'm glad," she said swinging her feet behind her and then slid back down in her seat.
"You have competition," Greed told Zoe with an amused laugh.
________________
Zoe’s eyes opened at the giggle and she laughed softly when the girl pointed out Captain America had a girlfriend. A light blush hitting Zoe’s cheeks. Her mouth dropped open with a mock gasp when the girl stole a kiss and she turned her lips in and looked up at Greed with amusement. A part of her ached because she knew she’d never have kids with him and despite the fact he’d be a horrible father at the actual child rearing, there were times when she saw him with Ava and this girl that sometimes she thought he wouldn’t be too half bad. She’d be there to balance it out.. but it didn’t do much good to even think about it because that was one more thing they wouldn’t have.
She smiled as her eyes looked at where the girl was and then went back to Greed, “Apparently.. she was pretty cute too. You know I always figured you’d leave me for a younger girl but I thought I’d at least have another thirty or so years before I’d have to worry about it.”

Greed’s hand loosely hung on Zoe's side, the other draped on the armrest. Kids were attracted to Greed because deep down he was just like them, they all wanted something. He rubbed his bottom lip where the girl had left sloppy wetness.
"Was a good kiss too. Made me all tingly inside," he wiggled his body loosely.
_______________
“You know she’s already planning her wedding to you, right?” she grinned up at him, in a semi-sleepy state. “I wanna be a bridesmaid. Nothing poofy though.”
________________
"She'll be standing up there all alone, cause I'm crazy about you." he leaned down to whisper in her ear. A word tumbled out that he'd used before in Lithuania, and with human feels all over the place it slipped (though it had no business being on his tongue). A growl followed as he felt his stomach immediately take offense. He sat it out a moment but then shook his head.
"Nope," he nudged her out of his lap and made an exit into the restroom. It was not the most comfortable of places at this exact moment.
______________
“Aww..” she grinned at him when he said he’d choose her over the little girl. That grin melted into a smile and she looked at him softly when he whispered he loved her. She still looked amazed, she always did when he said it because she couldn’t believe it was true. She got him. “Chance... I...” she touched his cheek, she’d never said it before-- and he was off. She quickly got up with questioning brows rising as he darted for the bathroom.
She sighed and was accepting. Such was the life of living with Sin.
