He clinked his glass against Richard's. "Cheers," he agreed with a smile. "Think if they got along, how scary that could be."
"I was never in Macedon, Antipater ruled in my place," he said. "Too busy being general to be king, I suppose. I sent back money, and the empire thrived and had peace, but troops kept leaving and after I died, Rome took over. Expanding was more important to me, to see beyond the next hill, go farther than anyone had before." He shrugged. "It was what I was good at, I suppose."
